Yesterday both Lucas Raymond and Jonatan Berggren signed their deals. That leaves Mo Seider as camp starts in 2 days. Here is an embed of today’s media availability of Raymond after signing for 8 years
Most of you know by now that it is an 8 x 8.075 deal. There are no bonuses which is consistent with Larkin’s deal. So many contracts have had some sort of signing bonus attached since February as players and agents look toward the expiration of the current CBA.
An interesting point was made that, though just 22, Raymond is entering his 4th NHL season. Yzerman’s first two first round picks have certainly surprised (pleasantly) and Raymond spent the summer training with Seider. There’s a lot of relief that this has gotten done and Raymond sounds like he’s about to grab a flight to the states. Hoping an update will be added to this entry today.
