It was a good look at what some of the 3rd and 4th line players bring to the table, and Talbot had a good 3rd (one save saw a little help from his D). Again, Chicago is in a rebuild mode so it’s a bit of a tempered look at what we saw.
Copp grabbed two assists, Seider had an assist, 4 blocks and 3 shots. Just seems fearless in front of the puck. His assist was a nice side to side at the blue line and showed some smooth edges by the newly “minted” Dman.
Lyon was solid for the first two periods and Detroit did a good job limiting chances against. The “sizzle” wasn’t there with Larkin, Raymond, Kane and Debrincat out of the lineup. Still, was interesting to see how Tarasenko uses his body and stick to protect the puck. Lombardi created some looks. Not a ton from Danielson and feels safe to think he’s GR bound.
Good to see another ‘W’, not the fast start of Wednesday but a solid effort for the shutout. Berggren got some decent minutes but will likely need to work up the lineup showing better D zone presence. Fun game to watch, let me know your thoughts.
*Fischer had a good, hard working goal and is one of those depth “journeyman” players that seems to have grown on the coaching staff. Happy to see him back.
