I did a write up on Detroit sports with an odd day off, and then Yzerman pulls the trigger.

Utah has acquired Olli Maata from Detroit in exchange for the Ranger’s 3rd round pick in 2025. Huge thanks to my buddy Chris for the heads up

Maata is on year 2 of a 2 year deal with a 3m AAV. It was mentioned earlier that if Motte gets healthy, Detroit will have to either send Kasper down or make room by sending someone else down. Not sure if that’s the factor in this or not. I continue to hope for a deal to get Soderstrom from Utah as the RFA wants a change of scenery and is overseas.

Not really sure what to think. We’re crowded on D, but was a 3rd the best they could get and do you think another move is coming?
