It always depends on how much you know about the sport. I'm sure people who rarely watch hockey think Pierre is fine and very knowledgeable (he is pretty knowledgeable-just annoying as hell about it).

the only thing i know about the nba is that teams now score 120 points a game and when i was a kid they used to score 90

Yeah, the analytics revolution in the NBA has really improved the game. It will happen in the NHL eventually. May take 20 years, but it will happen!

i forget what game it was like a week ago where the first time he piped up it was some obnoxious correction of the play by play guy or something and the play by play guy just went "oh, you're back"
