1 TB 5400 rpm SATA Hard Drive = TERRIBLE for speed and performance. Good for storage. Loading times will be embarrassing.

Apple:

512GB SSD = extremely quick performance. That component alone is around $400.

Battery life is about 8 hours, so double the HP.

Weight: 2.02 kg (4.46 pounds)


I am also not including the retina display that completely blows whatever HP has out of the water. That, combined with several other factors is your answer to why is a Macbook more expensive than an HP laptop.

Flash storage. Screen res is a big deal. I'm not going to argue with you, the MacBook is significantly better than that hp laptop.

i will say this forever. my last 3 windows laptops were returned to the manufacturer a total of 7 times, 4 of them for the blue screen of death.

only thing to happen to my mac is ive had to replace the battery on my macbook because it's been on 20 hours a day for the last 3.5 years. mac is totally worth the extra couple hundred bucks. i take care of my laptop, i expect it not to die just from doing what it's supposed to.
