if you are going to correct me, atleast get it right...
Donovan... thank you
But de Haan is correct, not DeHaan

Sorry X. I was not trying to correct. I love the idea of deHaan and Donovan both making the team. Should have made my post clearer. |

Well, I guess I'll take a stab at lines since it's the thread topic. Opening night, barring any trades/acquisitions, I think it'll be:
Moulson-Tavares-PMB
Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo
Grabner-Regin-McDonald
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
Nelson
Boulton
AMac-Hamonic
Hickey-Vis
Strait-Carkner
Donovan
By the middle of the season, if the kids all meet/exceed expectations, I'd love to see something like:
Moulson-Tavares-Strome
Bailey/Grabner-Nelson-PMB
Grabner/Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
McDonald
Regin
Vis-Hamonic
Strait-Donovan
AMac-Hickey

He would but they will not pay him what he wants - Vukota
withal the emphasis and building a team around character players, I highly doubt garth would go the grabo route |

i dont disagree with the lines- maybe id tweak nelson/regin and clutter/mcdonald- but my main issue is the first line isnt strong enough |

I have a hard time seeing them moving PMB off the top line. That said, I like the combos. We're a much better team on paper this year IMO.

As of right now I think the Isles are the 3rd best team in the division behind the Pens and Rags... If they countinue of the right path, continue to develop and inject a few of the younger kids (Strome, Nelson, Lee, Donovan, De Haan) when ready or needed... They can easily be better then the Rags and as they proves last year, they can play with the Pens.
That being said, they cannot play Nabakov all season (and Olympics) and then then think they can ride him in the playoffs (if they make it)... They need to find out who is going to split time with him asap. |

quite honestly if we can find more consistent goaltending, I think we're already better than the Rangers. The Pens are far and away #1. I also wouldn't discount the Flyers yet since they made some pretty significant moves (regardless of Streit).

I only put the Rags ahead of the Isles cuz of Henrik...
Philly is so hit or miss these past few years, plus I still dont like there goaltending at all.
Pens (Class of the division)
Rags (Can Henrik carry them again? AV influence?)
Isles
BlueJackets (If Bob plays like he did last yr?)
Captials (If they get MVP Ovechkin)
Flyers (Iffy goaltending)
Devils (Kovalchuk screwed them, Can Bordeur/Schnieder combo carry them?)
Hurricanes (Wild card, could be last, could jump up a few spots) |

Agreed, not to mention they have NO physicality in front of the net, especially if they deal Coburn as is being predicted.
I think the Rags depend too much on Henrik and simply cannot generate enough offense to be consistent.
We absolutely need Poulin to step up and show he's ready, if not plan B (Nilsson) should be ready to step up...I don't want to see Nabby seing more than 60% of the games this season.

Completely agree... They ride Henrik every year, scrape 2 goals out and hope he only lets up 1... Henrik is human so maybe a bad year? haha I doubt it... But thats where the new coach comes in. AV may open it up which will leave Henrik open to more odd man rushes. So the offense might improve but the defense around Henrik may drop off. |

I think more than ever, injuries will determine who makes it or not. A couple teams hit with an injury bug for a couple weeks or months and they are out.

I think they have a talented roster. If AV gets the most out of it, they'll be right up there, imo. Nothing's guaranteed, obviously. It's about how they play as a team rather than what the roster looks like on paper, but I don't see many glaring holes in the Rangers' roster. |

The Rangers have more offensive talent then their output showed the past few seasons. They should be scoring more. If they do start scoring more, they'll be a top tier team. The Rangers need to play Biron more this season, especially with the Olympics. Lundqvist is going to burn out before the playoffs if he plays 65+ games plus olympics. |
