Awfully easy to manipulate. Especially if they're not capable of tracking unique hits.
Xxkeaner17xX - keaner17
The Ad Servers have ways to track the hits. They have a bunch of different metrics to measure ad delivery. Generally the page views are measured by the thousand. It's possible to automate something to run up the numbers, but it wouldn't get you much if anything. The Ad Servers would either discount it, or you would earn less than the cost of the electricity used. |

Most Ad servers work based on cookies. Like I say, it's easy to manipulate if the price is right...no I'm not offering.....or am I?

The content may be influenced by cookies, but cookies aren't used to track the page views. I'm sure it could be manipulated but nothing drastic. |

It's slow here in Islandersville...all I asked is if the bloggers get paid and now we're talking about Ad-servers... |

at least we're not debating if Nikki Sixx is a better bass player than Geddy Lee. After a couple of weeks, I finally found where you guys are hiding. i guess we'll be back on the main page before you know it. Congrats Dan.

but he adds quality depth to this team if he reasonably adds 15 goals and 35-40 points in a third line role that would be very good. an he also makes this team a much bigger pain in the arse to play. you ask the top players in the west if their going to miss playing against cal - Dan Petriw
no argument on all those points. going back to orig post, I was replying to the NYI178 EDIT: Dan's reply about forecasted standings and where Isles will be.
PMB is just this years Boyes flier. I like the addition of CC. Alot. But he's not Butch Goring - nor is the team on the verge as they were when Butch joined them.
But everyone in here talks about the prospects making the team, mostly, "if they're NHL ready" rather than "if they're better" than the guy holding the spot currently.
Garth is "holding" spots, basically for the kids and I wish it were the other way around. SO, the overall point was that I think the team got better(tho Nino will be the x factor, later on) thru addition and being a year older. But in the redefined conference, I think we're gonna be down to the wire fighting for No. 7 or 8 spot.
Good players were available and the new arena is one more year and we have cap space. This is the question I want Garth to answer. What the hell is he waiting for?
There were some VERY good player deals & signings and we didn't do much. He's said 4 years in a row now that he has the $$$ and assets, yet no one significant has been acquired. I'd rather have picked up Jagr than PMB as a one year deal.
The publicity and coverage alone would be a positive thing for a franchise about to move to a new arena. His mantra must be "Stay the course....wouldn't be prudent..." |

Is Dan now obligated to hang out with Dee? What interaction, if any, can Dan expect to have with Dee going forward? These are the really important questions that need answers. |

Yha, he has the assets & he has the space.. but he offered Nino to 2 teams for back up goalies and they said no... So we get CC & keep the 1st that became Ryan Pulock ... I dont know how you cant be pleased with that.
He should stay the course... its finally reaping its rewards.

Your Mick remark explains your Garth remark.
I don't see how people give him credit for basically not driving the team bus off a cliff.
You say his moves are "Reaping rewards?" What planet are you living on???
8th seed in a shortened season where Philly & NJ tanked??? You're giving credit to Garth and/or Cappy for that? Unless Garth inflicted Brodeur's injury his "stay the course" approach has yielded nominal results. If there's no JT on this team, we're picking top 5 maybe top 3. Which for JT's first 3 years, we did pick top 5.
We got no better in goal, we lost a top-minutes dman (Streit) w/o replacement and JT is still head & shoulders above every other forward on the team with no one to HELP HIM out. AND he's keeping his buddy/puppet coach on the bench who can be out-coached by a hot pretzel with mustard. (I looked it up....Mustard IS one of the more intelligent condiments).
Just about any person on this site could have performed Garth's job the past four years and reaped the same rewards....he's slightly better than auto-pilot. |

first off, "Congrats" Dan well earned/deserved. I don't post much but am here all the time. 2nd) if I knew how to add a photo I would add a pic of "Otto" from "Airplane" to the previous post. 3rd) Just noticed that the new Fox Sports1 channel appears to have "replaced" MSG+2, at least on FiOS. "Missed" a few games last year since Dolan doesn't allow MSG+2 ON FiOS (in HD anyway) Wonder how many games this season, as a result of Ed's decision, will be banished to +2. 4th) thoughts on signing Tim Thomas? yes, he's had a year off but 2 "elite"...okay, "big name" goalies in their latter years could be interesting no? |

I'm not ready to give up on Garth yet. the team is certainly improving. there has been some glaring holes, and yes he should of addressed them. but sometimes its better to not jump the gun and over pay for players. I honestly feel like he wanted to make sure he has all of his draft picks locked up before he made a heavy FA splash. let's be honest here... the FA pools haven't been very good in recent years and the prices are absurb on top of that... |
