I agree with that as well. I think you might see a bit more of that. But you have to be careful with it too. Some guys don't respond well to being put into what they would consider a "lesser" role. In most cases, it's not an issue, but everyone's personality is different.
Center is the marquee position in the forward ranks. Someone may get mad that they were put into a supporting role at wing instead. - HonkFortheGoose
Idk about that
No one should be above the team
Whoever it is needs to understand that their personality needs to fit in with that dynamic
They need to be willing to do anything for the team,
Even play on the wing if that's what they are asked to do
Do the Kings still win the Cup if Richards causes a big stink about being moved to the 4th line?
What about Williams? He could've sulked or pouted about being moved from the Top line to the 3rd... Instead he became playoff MVP

Wonder if they'd take Ekblad, or try to trade down?
Certainly Edm & Tor have been vocally "hot" for Ekblad.
Perhaps a Bennett/Gagne or Kadri/Ritchie package could get it done?
Personally, I'd prefer to take Ekblad, and work on an "Ehrhoff & Hodgson : R. O'Riley" deal. |

People are soo frustrating. I had to argue all last summer that drouin would not be picked ahead of McKinnon now doing the same thing with the sams. I guess I will never learn bcz I choose to argue with fools. I guess I'm the real fool. |

Watch ROR. If they sign Stasney and he elects 2 year arbitration. Colorado is in a weird spot |

Honestly, I don't get the obsession with posting stuff as if you have a source, only to be dead wrong all the time.
I believe some people here have credible sources, and the ones that do rarely post because NHL organizations don't leak there plans |

He is the only one, who I think does, he has said several things before they've happened.

-I wouldn't mind sending grigo to the jets in some sort of trade for Evander Kane.
-I think signing Callahan is a good move, hes a good all around player and would provide great leadership for all the young guys. His style is similar to Dustin Brown and Jonathan Toews, both won two cups.
-Stastny should be another free agent option considering his heads up play.
-Moulson had good chemistry here and showed interest in returning.
-O'Reilly has great talent and would be a nice piece to build around.
-Patrick Sharp is a sniper who could add a lot of scoring from the wing.
-Lastly, picking up one or two of these guys may decrease the chances of ending up with the #1 next year but im optimistic we could get mcdavid one way or another considering the islanders pick and all the other picks we have as well as ehrhoff and possibly Stafford as trade bait.

Are you suggesting we could trade up for the McDavid pick should we fail to get it? |

I think you have a very good idea....BUT we already have 800 defensemen thanks to darcy Regier.
For the record I would draft Bennett...Super fast and skilled...plays a great two way game...gritty just like Gilmour...Wears a cool number...What is not to like? Big deal he couldn't do a pull up lol, Gretzky said "When I was on the Oilers cup winning teams I couldn't do a pull up and had worst bench press on the entire team"
Talent with grit...I'd take that any day over BIG slow guys like Joe Thornton types. |

2. Sam Reinhart, centre, Kootenay Ice (WHL) – Reinhart comes into the draft with not near as much hype as Steven Stamkos in 2008 or Tavares in 2009, but the North Vancouver native does have the raw talent to follow their footsteps in becoming one of the top forwards in the NHL. He plays a smart and responsible two-way style while possessing the skill to have the ability to take control of a game. The 6-foot-1, 183-pounder, who scored 36 goals and 105 points in 60 games, is more of a playmaker, but his quick and hard wrist shot is as good as junior hockey has to offer.
Scout’s take: “I would disagree with anybody who would claim he doesn’t have the potential to be a future franchise player,” says Ross MacLean, head scout of International Scouting Services. “I don’t think he’s the ultra-exciting offensive player that people tend to associate with branding someone as a franchise player. He does the little things well; he’s a well-rounded player who plays a very calculated and intelligent game. He is the kind of player that wins hockey games. Reinhart can do the things the likes of Patrice Bergeron, Jonathan Toews and Anze Kopitar can do and he can think the game at that level. He is not all flash and dash but as a base for a team, but he’s got everything you want to build a winner.” |

If we have #2, it is possible. The difference between McDavid and Eichel is relatively small. I still believe the price would be hefty. |
