I love Bryan in-ring, really enjoyed his rise to the top last year and want him to have a long, successful career.
That said, I don't want him as the top guy because watching him in that spot makes me uncomfortable. Mostly, it's his promos. He's an absolutely awful promo (at least when scripted), and comes across like someone playing wrestling. He constantly seems like he's fighting the urge to break out into a big cheesy smile and it actively takes me out of the moment.
Secondly, whilst the YES thing was an awesome, naturally occuring phenomena, it seems to basically be his whole act now. He comes out and, whether happy or sad, chants "YES!", he does it during all his promos and all his matches, it's like the world's longest one-note joke that screams midcarder, not main event.
I guess I just feel awkward watching him so far up the card and, really, when I'm watching the build for a main event program, I don't want to feel like that.

I don't like him because he sucks up to the crowd too much. As much as this sub tried to force him down our throats i also feel like he shoves himself down the fans throats by portraying himself as the fan's wrassler

Another dude in that thread just compared him to Mick Foley and I think that's a pretty damn good comparison. Over with the fans, valuable on the card, versatile, but not "the guy"

Now, he doesn't have half the charisma Foley did, but he's a better worker.

While I am still confused as to why you felt compelled to share your Shrek story, I thought I would take a few minutes and say that the cluster(frank) unfolding is unimaginative and sad. DB is so (frank)ing useless, it's not even funny. Mid card guy at best. Rollins made him look good.

I would be a bigger Rollins mark if he ditched J&J and Show. He can stick with the Authority and remain heel but the constant interference and side show is actually holding back his character imo.

And (frank) DB. (frank)ing loser.

and yes, DB is boring. He has his own 5 moves of doom but no one seems to acknowledge it.

Opens match with kicks, then hits a missle dropkick, that backflip after climbing the turnbuckel, hits more kicks, suicide dive that looks dumb because of his dumb beard and hair, running knee.

He Hogans his matches by dominating, then getting beat down, coming back, getting beat a bit, stops selling immediately as he Hulks Up or Channels the Warrior and does his dumb winning thing.

I guess its 6 actually, because he has the yes lock which takes 15 seconds to apply while the opponent goes "Oh em gee no i cannot escapay!"

I just can't bring myself to care about him. He's good in the ring, but he's a dull person. I enjoy his matches, then he opens his mouth and delivers a promo that takes me out of it. Its always the same thing. "EVERY FAN WANTS ME AT THE TOP! I'M THE PEOPLES CHOICE! SOMETHING ANTI-AUTHORITY! GIVE ME THE MATCH I WANT BECAUSE I AM NOT GONNA STOP WHINING FOR IT! YES!"

I was fine with him last year because I just wanted something that wasn't Cena/Orton again. I like to see new match ups and basically retreading last years storyline has me totally out of it. This time subbing HHH for Reigns.

His current storyline is about as face as Big Show's "I'm gonna put the WWE out of business!" was. Its not very babyface. "THE GUY WHO WON FAIR AND CLEAN DOESN'T DESERVE THAT! I DESERVE IT! ANTI-AUTHORITY SENTENCE! YES!"

If it wasn't for the couple lines here and there about "THE AUTHORITY HOLDING THE YES MOVEMENT BACK!" he'd be doing the exact some snivelling heel schtick we've seen from Jericho, Christian, Rollins, Orton, etc.

I've always been annoyed by the "Yes!" chant too and I could deal with it last year but I feel its becoming a crutch versus a compliment to him.

I think The writers will do one of two things and neither of them involve DB winning.

1. Reigns wins and DB turns as to stamp out the yes movement so it's not detrimental to The golden boys rise.

2. Reigns wins, DB accepts it and it elevates reigns will the fans having DB put him over. DB may even take the mic and talk him up to get him over with the crowd.

No matter what DB and Ziggler open Mania and steal the show although I believe the main event will be better than most think. Lesnar constantly puts on great matches and reigns may be able to do just enough to keep up.
