cause last night all the commenters on the steal wrestling site were saying no to him winning. which i thought was weird either way because i think it would have been the coolest outcome.

yes. pretty much everyone was an indie darling at this point.
It seemed like they were going to try to get away from that and build their own stars, but then NXT became viewed as its own cash cow so now they are back to filling out even that roster by raiding the indies and japan.

they cant help themselves.

Yup

Top stars are on 6 figure contracts, barely any TV money, and like 300 seat venue.

A few tour spots doesn't help much either since NXT also has to buoy all the off-screen talent that is at the performance center and all the costs that go with it.

Be curious to see how WWE files NXT in tax season. Could be a useful write off if it loses money.

i saw an argument on reddit about how NJPW isn't indie because they pay wrestlers well. basically saying that if the wrestlers make money they aren't indie anymore and they're sellouts.

also saw people argue that anything that isn't WWE is indy. and others say its only indie if its in America and not the WWE or TNA

i don't think it is, but trying to get a fixed definition is difficult, i dont agree with everything except wwe is indy
