Yes, they should have went with the full Ballard look which leaf fans hate instead of arguably their most popular look. It's about pandering to what the core buyers like.

Though I will say that a change wasn't needed and considering it's their 100th next year why role out a new look since it's going to be lost with all the retro looks.

Probably a lot to do with glory era/dark days in regards to logos. Don't know about the jersey itself, but it may be their 67 design from their current 3rds.
