At this point I don't see the benefit to keeping Barzal around. There are enough guys that can play center here if someone goes down and he's just rotting in the press box.
But the question becomes: If JHS does get the call, is he going to play? At the moment, Prince can't be taken out of the lineup, he's playing really well. Quine is already riding pine (no rhyming intended) with Kulemin back in the lineup. Bailey is playing well with Tavares.
Who do you take out for Ho-Sang? You could make a pretty fair argument for Lee, but then you're losing a big, physical body. Not to mention Lee plays LW anyway. - eichiefs9
Ladd.
I kid, I kid.
He had some decent looks against the Leafs. Like that he's physical as well but that spear/slash wasn't really necessary. Think his lack of production is frustrating him. |

I think Ladd is playing well. By all accounts, he's a notoriously slow starter so I'm not that worried. I think he'll settle in in no-time.
Once he pots a couple I'm sure he'll be fine, but definitely agree that you can tell how frustrated he is. |

Nelson missed a beautiful feed from him I joked boards 2a Ladd 1a. Steve Kearns just called isles fan base the best in the NHL for all the poop we put up with like halak the ice cappy on NHL radio. What a joke the team is with this stuff but they think isles got the right owner to make changes |

I'm getting the feeling that this will be a transitional season for the Isles. So many new faces in both the team and ownership, a dash of controversy (Barclays Center, Halak) and a looming expansion draft.
I've tempered my expectations because of it. |

It very well may be, but this team really is at a point in its development that they cannot afford to have that, at all. With Tavares' looming UFA status and the fact that they've added so much salary that there is little cap space, they need to find a way to get their act together and not make this a transitional season.
And all that is just from a hockey-ops standpoint.
As far as the fan-base is concerned, this team has pretty much exhausted all it's second-chances and excuses. It's getting really hard to continue to actively support them. |

I still think they are gonna get it together here and play well call me an optimist but they have talent may need a new coach to get it out of them, we'll they do need a new coach |

That being said I had a funny feeling the Oil were making the playoffs last season. So there's that. |

I'm certainly not writing the season off, but I truly believe that this team doesn't have a shot in hell as long as Capuano is behind the bench. |

I think they have talent and I think they win in spite of him if we had a proven coach I think they could win 2 rounds but this system and the mental mistakes bad changes too many men people losing coverage in the d zone falls on cappy and co |

As the tired saying goes "you can't fire the players".
After awhile, it stops becoming the players faults because coaches are supposed to fix any glaring issues. A mistake here, a mistake there..fine, that's on a player. But when there are problems that span multiple seasons and have been improperly rectified or flat-out not addressed at all...that becomes the responsibility of the coaching staff. |
