Bailey with a hat trick. All primary assists go to de Haan.
Any word on who is in goal? |

Not yet, but wouldn't be surprised to see them go with Greiss again. |

Do you think Halak will be getting many starts since Walsh (?) called out Snow? Is the GM somewhat surly in nature? |

They lost to the Devils before that as well. Isles have no shot tonight |

I don't know, but I don't think it helped. That, coupled with the fact that Halak has posted an ugly .901 sv% and 3.04 GAA, I wouldn't be surprised to see Greiss start getting the bulk of the starts at something like a 2:1 ratio.
Also, after reading Elliotte Friedman's 30 Thoughts while taking my morning work-dump earlier...the Isles would have to get Berube into 21 games this year or else he would be a Group VI UFA after this contract expires. |

Maybe they think they're going to lose a goalie in the expantion draft what other reason do they keep 3?
Edit this whole thing is stupid move a keeper and get something in return berube was free so anything you get back now is essentially free or move Jaro if you think berube is so good. If he needs to play 21 to not be a free agent then he needs to be part of a 2 goalie rotation otherwise it seems a complete waste of a spot |

They need to just make a decision one way or the other, and stick with it.
Trade Halak
Trade Berube
Waive Berube
Trade Greiss
Keep all 3 and tell Allan Walsh to shut his whiny mouth
Something has to give soon.
As far as losing someone to the expansion draft, I get that. But if Halak and Berube were both exposed, you'd have to assume that if LV was looking for a goaltender they'd take Halak over a guy who's a few weeks away from becoming a UFA. Which would leave us with Berube who, at that point, would have been jerked around by the organization for two years and would be about to become a UFA. That could end in disaster. |

Trade Halak ( ) to the Canes for whatever picks you can get and play Berube for 1/4 of the season would be the simplest solution then?
Could Berube handle that much of a work load at this level? |

That is very debatable. His rebound control is pretty awful and we've seen in the past that doesn't equate well as far as being a legit nhl goaltender. |

My guess is they are looking at a tandem of Greiss/Berube to bridge them until Sorokin is ready to come over and play. Ilya is signed through this KHL season and the next. I would assume that they'd want him to start in the AHL to acclimate to the smaller ice surface when (if?) he is ready to come over at the completion of his contract. So that's at least two more NHL seasons and potentially part/all of a third season. |

I read it might be possible to get sorokin out of his final year not sure if it was a buyout or what but it might be doable. He is their future I believe and I like greiss now if they get rid of berube now and halkl does get hurt we have Gibson and he's just not gonna cut it. Hopefully this doesn't drag on all year and gets resolved soon but I'm not holding my breath |

I've heard that too, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Also, Sorokin has some shockingly-good numbers in the KHL...but I'm not betting on him to be the "goaltender of the future". He could be, I hope he is, he seemingly has the talent to be that guy...but goaltenders are so god damn fickle that I'm not banking on anything. He's certainly going to have every opportunity to take the reigns, but he's going to have to adjust to life in a new country and playing on a different sized rink. There will be quite a few hurdles for him to clear. |
