I don't think I could ever stop watching or rooting for the Islanders, but I would most certainly stop being a money-spending, die hard fan. I'm not spending money on tickets, train, concessions, etc... (I've never been a "jersey" guy) to go watch them if he leaves, that I can promise. I'll watch on TV, but it won't be a "can't-miss" thing like it usually is for me. If I have time and feel like watching I'll flip the game on, but I'm not clearing my schedule to watch them if Tavares leaves.

Anyway, getting way ahead of ourselves. Things suck right now but the world isn't ending. Sounds like Snow is out there shopping for a winger, so let's see what he can find.

My gut tells me Saad is a pipe dream, I can't imagine why they'd make an in-division trade unless CBJ wants to get ripped off or we overpay.

Duchene is an interesting thought, although he's concussed right now. He ain't coming cheap though. Be prepared to lose one of Barzal/JHS/Beauvillier and then some.

Staple said there were scouts at CGY/ARI last night. Wouldn't be surprised if CGY moved Bennett, but not sure he is the answer either.

It would be nice to finally get that top line winger, you think that changes anything though? I mean it might balance things out a little more, but I would say Cappy still wouldn't have a clue how to set the lines.

What in his tenure would lead you to that conclusion

Exactly. I mean the team you have now should't be that bad. I don't think a winger changes that.

I don't think it's even setting the lines that is Capuano's biggest issue. It's the entire system. It's just a straight-line system and it doesn't work.

Capuano is forever the Uncle Joey to Snow's Danny Tanner

It worked for a little more than half a season and then teams learned what they were trying to do and took away their speed in the neutral zone and they never changed it. He has no other system he can't make changes in game let alone season he just continues to jam a square peg into a round hole. This team can't score so they need to play from the net out and create cHannes of other teams turnovers and be patient. Instead they all rush up the ice and get caught and give up man rushes that turn into goals and once they are behind they have to open it up more and in turn give up more.

My biggest contention with Capuano has always been that he is absolutely inept at being able to adapt to adversity. Once he needs to change the game-plan, he is completely lost. He either sticks to his guns or just starts shuffling the lines. I'm fine with the line blender, but when the other team has already busted your system...you're just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic by switching up the lines.

Yup exactly my point he just can't find another way, and I hate when a team starts to dominate and he waits for the TV timeout and they score 1 or 2 quick ones

I do think he wants to stay and I'm not convinced he's leaving or anything, but he'll be 27 when his contract ends and 28 by the time the new one starts. If this organization can't get their act together between now and then and at least appear to be making a concerted effort then I'm not so sure his love of NY is going to trump his desire to win a Cup. At age 28 you only have around 5-or-so years left in your true prime and you're probably starting to wonder if the team you're with is going to get you to where you want to be. That's all, I'm not saying the sky is falling regarding JT...just that this team needs to prioritize him ASAP or it might blow up in their face.

This should have been the priority for the last few years especially last summer. I see him leaving if these guys are still running the show and I can't say I would blame him.

If Tavares leaves the problems this franchise has now will seem miniscule real quick.
