No. Not too soon. Need to get through the rest of the season. Everything starts with great ownership.
Ottawa is a phenomenal hockey market. Fans have been abused for a very long time. If everything works out over the next few months we will have lots to cheer about in the future. Spatso

Lots of weird things happening.
Right now Florida holds down the final playoff spot. They are on pace for a 92 point season. The East is far more competitive than in previous years.
I don't think it is important for the Sens to make the playoffs. But, I do want them to be relevant and part of the hockey conversation after Christmas. Spatso
The only thing that is not weird is that the Sens stink. Even with current winning streak on pace for 72 points. Should be good for a lottery pick. |

They were talking about those rankings on Serius Hockey channel today with a New York reporter and he flat out said Lafreniere and Kakko are A class prospects but they will never achieve their potential until they get out of NY. Neither player gets any power play time.
I like Lafreniere. Perhaps he will be moved. Sens should be interested.

Listened on Serius 91 last night between 6:00 and 7:00pm. They did some pregame stuff on the Sens including a short interview with Claude Giroux.
The consensus is easily that they love this team, especially Brady, Timmy, Chabot and Sanderson. We are going to be very good. Soon enough! Spatso

Coach and GM will not survive ownership change. It would not be helpful to change them now.
Love this team. They well be outstanding under new ownership.
Sens do not have a primary problem called gm or coach. Their problem for may years has been an ownership problem. It is getting fixed. - spatso

NHL teams do detailed game prep in advance of every match up. So, opposing teams go out with a game plan to contain Chabot. When he skates 30 minutes it makes great sense to focus on keeping him under control.
Now, with 3 reliable pairs of D in the cycle it changes everything. Soon enough we are going to see Chabot benefitting by some of that attention having to be transferred over onto Cychuran.
You are right some Ottawa fans will always need a scapegoat, someone to blame. As the increase with gambling continues expect the scapegoating to get even more pronounced. - spatso

I can't work up strong feelings one way or the other on DeBrincat.
I would hate to see them lose him for nothing.
On the other hand, I would be happy if they could flip him and use the assets to acquire a power forward along the lines of a Pierre Luc Dubois or an Evander Kane or a Tom Wilson. - spatso

Daigle had a better rookie season than Stutzle. He had enormous potential. I think the Sens did a horrific job in managing his development. - spatso

When teams get to where the Sens are now they usually finish off their roster by adding a few key veterans in top 6 (Giroux) and bottom 6 (Brassard). This coming year I would like to see them add some veteran size and grit. I really like Tom Wilson.
Hearing Winnipeg goalie is as good as gone. One of the best in the league but he will be asking $9m+ and the Sens could not fit that salary under their cap. - spatso

If the Sens contend for a playoff spot next season they will have a great year and return to being top 5 in NHL team attendance.
Ottawa/Gatineau has a deep pool of wealth and the highest average household income in Canada. They will gift millions of $000 in Sens Christmas swag next year.
Ryan Reynolds will be with the team in Sweden on opening night and he will have multiple cameras focussed on the young Sens.
I think both Dorion and Smith remain with the team, although Dorion has his powers adjusted for a new boss that comes in over top of him.
DeBrincat is moved and the cap space is used for a power forward and goaltender.
Leafs offer up Marner for Brady Tkachuk.
Dorion is told by his new boss not answer any phone call with a 416 area code. - spatso

I was not aware that this thread existed. I am deeply honoured.
Sad to see Dubas and Spezza leave town. Still think Leafs will be a good team next year. |

I don't think the Leafs choked this year. They won a round. Florida is just a deeper and more physical team. Playoff hockey is a lot more physical. The feint of heart and ice dancers will always find playoff hockey more challenging.
Leafs need more depth and a stronger physical presence. But, I am just repeating myself. I have been saying it for a very long time. The Leafs are too soft.
Florida was a toxic combination for the Leafs. They are very physical. In addition, they have some speed on every line. |

As a Leaf troll, you are certainly repeating yourself. You are an embarassment to Hockey Buzz. You cheer for a team that in the bottom five in terms of team values in the NHL. Only Arizona, Florida, Columbus and the Sabres have lower value. Moving Ottawa to a more suitable NHL location would strengthen the NHL. Love Ottawa as a city. Skating on the Rideau is great, the Art Gallery is fabulous. The Sens are an irrelevant franchise and that will change only when they are moved.
