I think every one of Saad's 5 goals have been within a foot of the blue paint. - EnzoD
Exactly. They have been missing that for quite a while> |

I was channel surfing on the NHL Center ice package, and noticed a celebration and banner raising in Nashville, what did they win? |

Did we use the Hossa LTIR money for Franson or do we still hold all of it? |

Some of it for Fransen
Some of it just to be able to call up enough people for a full 23 man roster.... We were pretty over the cap without it |

Just enough cap space for Stan to acquire JvR with a little salary retention. |

and then 2 outs and the cubs pen blowsup and taylor hits a GS on a day nobody was suppose to be able to get one out...lester is wasted for 5 inning and he gets a pickoff

Even worse...
...the Yankees are winning again. Another Tribe gag job appears likely.
Nothing worse than Yankees AND Dodgers advancing. If those 2 clubs match up in the Series I won't watch a second. |

Good on ADB that he got his first goal last night and a nice snipe it was.
Will be interesting to see what clip he's scoring at after 40 games or so. He needs to score about one goal every three games as he doesn't bring much elseāin spite of the "look at how tough he is" narrative the paid gasbags keep pushing. Horrible TO on one of the power plays last night that Crow bailed him out on, too.
Work in progress. - John Jaeckel
He is a work in progress, but he has shown the skills required to belong so far. Just keep moving those goal posts to fit the narrative. Remember when tt had skill but no moxie? Now we have a kid with both, but you had said he wouldn't make opening nite so now you have to tear him down. Now he has to score over 25 goals to be of value? Same old song and dance.
As someone else pointed out, franson was cause of turnover...but hey, don't let facts get in the way....just sayin...
Double jeopardy.....The answer is...."saad, panik, Kane, aa, dinky, kero, rutta"
Who are current Blackhawks who tsj said had no value wearing the Indian head sweater, Alex???
Final jeopardy.....and the answer is "Marcus Kruger" |

JJ's angle on DeBrincat is unnecessarily negative. He even used the check he got versus Toronto as some sort of argument against him. He took a tough check, like that has NEVER happened to him before. Except he came back next shift and drove the zone with no fear. Took a positive and turned it into a negative.
So I am not shocked we hear about that turnover today. As you said keep moving the goal posts...I wonder what the goal is here, but he did allude to questionable rumors of DeBrincat's attitude, laziness, doesn't hustle on D, etc..i've seen NONE of that. I didn't see it in Junior and I'm not seeing it now. Has he made mistakes? Yes, he has. Is he a lock to be a NHL star? No he is not, but he has obvious skill and you have to figure as he gains experience he will become an even better player. |

I also read how he was easily knocked off the puck by bigger (pretty much all of them) players and I haven't seen that either. |

Back to discussing Kruger and his cap hit again? Remember, the reason he got that three year deal was because he did a solid for the organization with that discounted one year deal. It's a shame that it ultimately meant the Hawks couldn't afford him, but they did right by him with that contract, even after he had the wrist injury. Wrist surgery does not have a quick recovery, remember, as evidenced by Kane's surgery years ago. I don't object to the decision to dump his salary, but I don't object to the contract, either. |

Nope. Will he lose some board battles? Sure he will. Next time you watch him, see how he's very adept at covering for pinching D. He's seeing the entire ice and taking care of his responsibilities.
I said it last year after watching him play in Erie that I'd predict him to make the club, BECAUSE I saw a kid who wanted it and his skill was electric. Yea, he is contained more in the NHL, but everyone is. He "only has" 3 points through 4 games, but the dude has hit at least 1 post and had another near miss. He also has some serious leadership models he can emulate to become an even better pro on and off the ice. Having 19, 88, 10, 20, 2, and 7 show you the ropes will only help him grow.
I think a healthy criticism is good and I want him to make sure to make the safe play if you're not sure as he has had a couple tough turnovers thus far, but the kid earned a roster spot from a coaching staff that doesn't hand out those spots to teenagers easy. And he has followed that up by doing a hell of a lot more good things than bad.
