I'm not advocating any trades at this point, but if Stan were looking to make a move for a forward wouldn't Turris make more sense than Duchene? - DarthKane
dorion is idiot in ottawa.
i bet bowman could get turris and a 2nd for AA. |

i think turris could be a lot more realistic trade target for you guys. personally, i just don't see the fit for colorado with duchene.
turris as a 2C behind toews would do well. |

Depends on if the Hawks are then willing to either lose him in the summer or sign him to a 7 year contract, which is what he wants. Considering he's Turris is their 1C, their starting asking price has to be kind of high, no? |

ottawa is in screwed up situation. saving money on a deal is as important as anything else.
that's where they can be squeezed to bring the price down. |

Per Lazerus: Cody Franson will be in tonight. Q didn't specify who'd be coming out, but Franson plays the right side, so presumably Rutta. - walleyeb1
I would be very disappointed if Rutta were scratched. He has been arguably the Hawks 3rd best Dman so far this season. Forsling/Kempny/Murphy should all be scratched before Rutta, IMO. |

Yeah but I feel like they'd just target teams with young centers with top 6 potential instead - cheap contract now, defer the problem while still being potentially competitive. Hawks only have one of those handy and he should not be moved. They might take Anisimov to help present (though that leave Brassard as a 1C which is ehhhh), but they'd want something more for the future as well.
I wonder if they would be interested in Lindberg or Karlsson + one of the surplus defenders from Vegas. Vegas could then flip Turris at the TDL for picks/prospects as that's their whole deal. |

nah. dorion is an idiot. he over values veterans. AA's contract is structured the same as brassard's, with declining $.
i think there is an opportunity for you guys to take the sens to the cleaners, the same way the rangers did stealing Zib from them. |

Turris would be a better target for fantasies, for sure. Idk how we'd plan to afford him or who Q would play in defensive situations after the year is done but I do like him. |

Beats are saying Murphy is the scratch tonight.
Chris Hine from the trib:
Blackhawks defensive pairings:
Keith-Seabrook
Kempny-Franson
Forsling-Rutta
Connor Murphy appears to be the scratch. |

Makes sense. Not going to scratch Seabrook, Rutta has been great, so there's only one option left. Murphy has been solid if unspectacular the first 3 games but someone has to go and it's not going to be the guys who have been a bit better overall.
Kempny-Franson could be a tire fire so that's the pair to watch. Kempny-Murphy were getting the DZS but no way Franson does since he's not good anywhere but the OZ. |

So the two guys we got for Hammer are now 1 in the AHL and 2 in the press box. This one worries me |

Eh, they have 8 d-men up right now so they're going to have to rotate them all. Murphy has been playing well but also not as good as Rutta (who has gotten slightly better assignments though). Later, I'm sure Rutta will sit or rotate to the left, who knows. At one point last year, Rozsival was playing better than Kempny - it all changes quick.
Dauphin is a prospect. I know people were penciling him in but the minute they signed Wingels and Bouma, we all knew he was going to be down to start. This is not a surprise. |

"Slow Start" is one way of putting it. Getting thoroughly dominated in every facet of the game is another. At least they killed off that 5v3 and its only a 1 goal game. |

Talking about faceoffs, Foley just said Toews was thrown out if the circle 9 times last night, and Saad took 8 of those draws in his place. |
