Well, in the last few seasons Kane has been shooting more and it was paying off. He was #1 for the Hawks in PP shots in the last two seasons. Kane has been getting his typical PP minutes per game. The other thing is Sharp getting time over Seabrook and Seabrook has 0 shots on goal. Sharp hasn't exactly been great on the Powerplay either in getting that time instead of Seabrook on the first unit. - breadbag
Yeah, I was talking historically. He did almost doubled his shots from 2015 to 2017 on the PP, but he only saw an increase in point in 2016 (37). He had similar shot numbers in 2016 and 2017, but there was a 14 point difference in the seasons and 2017 (23) was pretty in par with his other years: 2010 (29), 2011 (24), 2014 (25) and 2015 (22). 2012 saw a dip and 2013 was too short to compare. |

Preds look like they're playing with an extra gear of speed, maybe 2 extra gears. Its embarrassing at times and a miracle that they haven't scored yet. - SimpleJack
Did you know that high danger scoring chances were pretty much even in the 1st period? Nashville definitely controlled play but the Hawks did an admirable job keeping at least outside the high danger areas and made the most of what little shot attempts they got off. 2nd has been mostly back-and-forth, more loose.
Still, I too would like the Hawks to kick into another gear. They played well last game so I'd like to see more of that. |

I don't know if I like Keith and Kane together anymore, no. The problem is that coaches typically like to have their best defender on the 1st unit because the PKers they face are typically the one most likely to be able to score a SHG. Seabrook is more useful imo as a point / shot man. I'd mix up the forward personnel a bit more - Saad/Panik in front of the net so Kane could cycle with Toews down low like they used to be prone to do before Panarin came around. - L_B_R
Im with you there, if i were Q, I'd switch out Forsling for Keith, Forsling has a nice shot and really with Kane, i brought him up because he's essentially the qb on the power play and when you have Keith out there they cancel each other out

I think part of it, early in his career the Hawks had more depth and more weapons on the PP, but as these years have gone on, Kane has had to try to make the play himself more. |

I like Kero for what he is, but to me, he isn't having a good audition at 2C tonight. It will be nice to have Schmaltz back and let Kero go back to his line. |

That is the one thing I loved about Teravainen's game. Masterful playmaker on the PP |

wow
I mean.....WOW
Hawks are either an average/fringe playoff team, or this is just a fluke start to the game. We'll find out over the next 2 periods which it is. Because bottom line is we've been utterly dominated, just like the Leafs game, and the opponent is clearly on another level(especially with speed/skating). But again I'm hoping its just the 1st period.
IMO us not having Schmaltz isn't a fair complaint if they're missing Ellis and Josi. - SimpleJack
Schmaltz' absence makes it clear that center depth is an issue that needs addressing. |

Hino would be an upgrade over Kero or AA. That speed and motor would help. |

It's just cause they didn't have room to call up someone. Rockford has quite a few centers making waves (Highmore is currently on a nice goal streak) but they don't have the roster space to recall someone because they're carrying too many d-men. |

It is hard to say even if Schmaltz will end up being the answer in the top 6 too. He showed signs of it last year, but he played what 16 minutes this season? I hope he ends up staying healthy once he comes back and he keeps generating the way he was. |

Good God Crawford totally hung out to dry on the PP - just embarrassing...
yet he managed to make the play. |

Wow we can't even get a shot on net on the pp, what a (frank)in soft team |

Kane looks backdoor, the play is broken up, puck up the ice the other way. Guh. |

I was danging the penalty but glad it worked out for you haha.
Nashville looking like the better team tonight. Saad and Panik bright spots. Toews sulking after his penalty. |

This team was flying out the gate and the true Blackhawks have landed, (frank)in soft ass team, not establishing themselves I front of the net, fade into the perimeter. |

Yes officially time to worry again. They had better use Hossas money sooner than later if they can. Not sure if thats even possible though. If they can .....no sense in waiting until the playoffs are almost out of reach. |
