This team needs new direction, IMO this is coaching, the PP is an a absolute joke they need a new system. I just don’t see this team being motivated anymore, message falling on deaf ears? 4th line is the only one playing hard game in and game out. Like to see Hayden moved up along with the cat. |

Just look at it like this.....they have, top to bottom, the most talent in the NHL. At least in my opinion. Thats why i think they're the best team, its not about stats or even their record. Just the roster they have and the eye test when you watch those players. Sensational talent when you have Tyler Johnson as your 3C. They've added even more depth of young, budding talent than they had when we faced them in the Cup. And all those core players are back and more experienced.
As others have said, injuries are all that can stop them. They aren't just "hot/lucky". And what they're doing as a team is sustainable, even if their top line(most notably Stamkos and Kucherov) stops producing at this rate. - SimpleJack
Not saying it can't be their year, but they won't keep winning at the rate they are with how they've been playing. There is no doubt they are on a hot streak, but they will slump too. The most talented team doesn't always win come playoff time, and a team like Tampa that is leaning on the PP can come up short if the refs put the whistles away. Way too early to crown anyone IMO. |

I’m resigned to waiting to see how they look by January / February - give it time to work, time to see if the young guys are championship caliber or just guys - time to see if Kane REALLY CAN be magical with a completely new set of (young and inexperienced) line mates - if Sharp can work some scoring with DeBrincat - if they have a continuing top-2 / top-4 / top-6 defensemen....
Yeah, January and 40 games should show a lot. |

If we are going to call out a Rookie for every turnover, then we ought to call out 19 for a brutal TO on the PP at his own blue line, and a garbage forced pass between 4 Knights that led to an odd man break. Check from McNabb was pretty clean, 8 needs to be prepared for a 6'4" dman to hit him there. Penalty Kill and Hayden are bright spots in this game, but Keith and Seabrook are an adventure, and the Sharp-Anisimov-Debrincat line is not up to snuff, IMO. Osterle turnover on the 3rd goal so maybe Kempny in next game. |

This would be a good time for a 3rd period come from behind win. |

it might be a good time for Toews to give up his "C". IMO, Toews is now just an average player for over two years. I think Kane should have the opportunity to wear the "C". He is the face of the franchise now! The chemistry of this team needs a change.....I think Coach " Q" should also be on the clock. The team looks disorganized and the power play is a total farce. No creativity, no urgency on part of the players....man it sure hard to watch the Hawks nowadays. |

Hayden has been a force in every aspect of the game. He deserves an opportunity to play extended minutes with higher skill players, IMO. |

Maybe its the way hes been deployed, but I don't see the slightest hint that Cat is anything to get excited about.
I'm inclined to think that Hawks need a change of scenery behind the bench. They've tried everything the last few years but simply don't have the fire. I don't believe that a healthy Seabs at his age should be dropping off as he has, nor a healthy Toews (if he was).
Bring in a fresh coach -don't know who. Vets are far too comfortable. Look at the Pens game and tell me if the eye test doesn't tell you the same thing. |

Simply too many lazy plays. You cannot just show up, give a half-a$$ed effort and expect to win in this league. |

Kane doesn't need the distraction. Maybe with how he has played defense this year, he should focus on that. Or maybe learn to make a difference on the PP, because he is playing like he forgot how. Lately the unit without Kane has been more dangerous than the unit with him on the PP. IMO, Seabrook would be a solid captain. |

Their passing has been terrible, not just lazy. Not a product worth watching on the ice.
When you compare this with the first two games, the only conclusion is they are playing far below their potential. And that falls completely on Q.

Tazer is pretty much untradable with his salary unless the Hawks eat a large part of it. I would try and move him though within the next couple of years. |

As others have touched on, the biggest sign that we're in serious trouble is the way we show up to play these games following 2-3 days off.
Where is the coaching/leadership/preparation/want/drive/determination/etc...???
Its unacceptable for them to always be so out of sync, sluggish, slow, and unenthused. Especially against most teams that aren't as talented on paper.
That's ALL on the core/leaders/head coach.

Plenty of time to regroup from a rough patch of performances and prepare for a solid effort against a (frank)ing expansion team.....and we get blown out.
What the hell was up with that opening night win jesus christ how random. |

3rd line is a disgrace because if Anisimov. Every time he's on the ice, bad things happen. Poor faceoffs, poor possession, no offensive zone forecheck,
and usually playing in our zone for the most part. It's decision time on AA. Move him or heathy scratch time. Change is needed ... Hino, Dauphin, or Kampf ??

Exactly
Hey look at that, a little bit of movement and point guys getting shots through leads to chances on the power play. What a novel idea. I wonder why nobody ever thought of that before.

interesting a team that is comprised of players from 30 teams; mostly 2nd tier and now 2 goalies out and they are about to go 7-1...
a team comprised of 3 cup champions and some decent 2nd year players look like they have actually never played together before... |

I would add about 15 more names from this Hawks roster that would also fit the word "BRUTAL". An expansion team with a third string goalie and our team is getting killed. This is a disgraceful Hawk performance tonight. Changes are needed. |

5-3-2 means they've lost more games than they've won. Awful game, again. This is going to be a very long year. The effort, execution, and overall consistent team play since game 2 is troubling. |
