This team needs new direction, IMO this is coaching, the PP is an a absolute joke they need a new system. I just don’t see this team being motivated anymore, message falling on deaf ears? 4th line is the only one playing hard game in and game out. Like to see Hayden moved up along with the cat. - Blackhawks4life
Tr Murray says the same. Struggling in own end of ice, effort of too many players not good enough. Vegas is better than expected but Blackhawks let themselves get beat. Teams have more speed than us. Vegas had one of worse puck possession ratings but not tonight.
Toews is half the player he was. Our veteran forwards and young up and coming have not been showing well since the opening two games. Hartman is a very frustrating player to like. You want more, you get less than You want from him.
You can blame Bowman but he actually has not drafted poorly out of late round slot. He took skill guys who are here in the NHL. But if you have two lightweigt then you better also have two heavyweights. I am not convinced yet, how Scmaultz is going to compete harder than TT did.
Panic and might as well move Hayden up. Sharp and Anisinov aren't accomplishing much. Sharp had been ok buy they are third line has been's If Anisinov is playing hurt, I dk but he is too slow.
You want to win. Bring in two kids from Rockford. All this love for Vinny....I don't think he is a regular scorer, but could become a reliable secondary scorer maybe if you do not already have too many lightweights. Kane, DeBrincat, Schmaltz, Vinny too. That said, forget if A Luis could ever join this group of small guys.
Anyway, Fortin and Kampf at some point and Highmore will work hard.
Them in. Q needs to go. Maybe Q needs to go partially due to what Bowman has given him But what the F do you expect after three Cups and your core has played a lot, some traded. New identity, more speed, more caring = new young players. If Q can't motivate them, then thank you HOF coach...your time is past tense. |

5 wins sofar:
PITT back to back with backup Goalie
COL ditto
MTL stinks
ARZ stinks
NASH lucky OT win
Once agin the Bowmans have put trash on the ice.
They have handed out some horrid contracts.
Seabiscut BRUTAL with worst contract in NHL
AA terrible
Sharp old & done
Murphy Terrible
Toews horrid contract
Crawfraud overpaid
Bouma & Wingels AHL at best
The fastest player with skill they have is in Rockford.
This team will not make the Playoffs.

Time to sit Panik for a game.
He simply seems to interfere with me seeing momentum...I an starting to think the submission posted that Babcock thought his hockey sense was low end might be closer to the truth.... |

Great post. I've been very reluctant to blame Q, but 20 more efforts from his team like this and you may be right. |

The lazy play of this team is appalling.
Q needs to go and someone needs to bag these "core" players.
Just ridiculous. |
|

|
Coach Q reluctance or inability to adapt to a changing league .and some mystifying personnel moves suggest his time has come to step aside and take a spot up stairs. This team has the horses ,they need the right deployment and structure .Also time on the practice rink . something Q I here is not fond of . Looks like a country club atmosphere has crept into the HAWKS room . Bring back Vinny ..!! . |

Was at the game heavy hawk presence there and we were given a sad showing for our support. stadium is nice great site lines and some cool features thought I was at a wolves game with all the crap at all stoppages. THEY SHOWED NO EFFORT and a shocking lack of a sense of urgency. |

Sounds like calling for the return of Iron Mike Keenan from the KHL -- or whoever can light a fire under some rears... still have to watch it but once down by 3 ... they were done I think (most teams usually are).

It's beyond words to me that such a great hockey player in Duncan Keith is so bad at aiming his shot and getting it past the first guy in the lane. - EnzoD
Funny you say that, if you were watching the Hawks feed, Konroyd says Keith rarely gets his shot blocked or has a knack of getting the puck to the net. lol That was after neil blocked one and was off on a breakaway until Keith took the penalty. |

Mediocre team. That’s all there is left to it anymore. - kwolf68
So many say lack of effort, but it could be that the overall talent just is not there anymore. Still a decent team, but not at the level of the very top tier anymore. |

Saw Bowman’s peace in the Trib Regarding Not itching to make a trade, I agree somewhat, but on another note what was so wrong with Braden McNabb’s clean 1980s hip check on Nick schmaltz last night into the boards? Not a damn thing, and you saw Ryan Hartman’s reaction, which I like, if, and I repeat if the check was actually dirty. This is the reaction you get when you have a lot of small non-physical guys on the team, that don’t play what I call the style of still NHL big boy hockey, I agree with an earlier post you can’t have too many of those guys in this day and age, Patrick Kane is a special talent, but Nick Schmaltz, and I will beat the drum to eternity , Does not have the stones to play NHL hockey, he shied away and turn the puck over several times when he heard footsteps last night, book still open on DeBrincat, still think he needs a season in Rockford, I think Bowmans tune will change if all of a sudden this team is sub 500 by Thanksgiving, but then it may be too late. I would be careful what you ask for when calling for the coaches head, there is nothing wrong with starting out slow which will expose some of the questionable player personnel decisions made on who to keep and who not to keep, I have no problem with letting them getting their asses handed to them and then McDonough coming down on Bowman and telling him to fix it when it comes to some guys that don’t have the balls to still play NHL hockey. I may sound like a caveman here, but this is not the Johnny’s icehouse Sunday morning elite league. And I also agree with Wiz on his take on Richard Panik.Let’s see what happens Saturday night. |

This isn’t a slump or bad coaching alone. It’s receeding talent. The team was in decline last year and the couple players added to that mix simply won’t mitigate this decline. It was bound to happen given what the hawks lost over the years. And no real way to fix it as the Hawks have very few assets to trade and most of those are overpaid. |

Ok, so it was a bad night... oh well...
I just have a quick thought... for those blasting bowman for bad contracts, lets be real for 2 seconds. He he traded or out let any of 19, 88, 7 walk outright... This board would have imploded.
Could you imagine if after 2 cups (3rd one was after they signed the extension), Bowman went out and sold 19 for 80% of his true value because he didnt want to pay him... EVERYONE would have flipped out.
I know 3 years ago it was the "cool" thing to want to trade Kane and everyone had their idea of offers they made in NHL15... but realistically if Bowman dealt Kane for say something like Okposo, Andrew McDonald, and a low pick (I think that is actually one i may have done in the game) when they were on NYI... were would Chicago be now? |

Yeah he's been killing possession for a few games now. Not throwing the hits as much either. I like him but he's frustrating Saad (who btw is mostly carrying that line)
I've been fortunate to miss this one and the St-Louis pantsing this week. |

I think Hayden deserves a chance to play in the top 6, either in Panik's spot or Hartman's spot. |

Seeing some consistent lack of effort lately. That comes back to motivation issues and a HC nobody is listening too anymore. PP is a joke. Effort is a joke. Dunno. Too much talent on this team to play like this. Or maybe the Cups and the fat contracts have gone to their heads?? Time to bring up Hino, Kampf and Dauphint. They can show what effort is. |

Hey Jhawk...
Bowman hasn't drafted bad, its his trade record that's hurt this team the last few years...and lest we forget - this is the guy that had to resign David Rundblad after the cup run in 15 when he knew he needed an actual #4 defenseman - which cost this team dearly against the Blues. At the TDL he traded a really good young center in Danault for hot garbage when he needed a defenseman...would could shoulda.
At the same time he's brought in Ladd and the year before Vermette...
Should we go back to the mishandling of the Sharp trade in summer 15 - had Sharpie been moved for picks and Bickell bought out (another bad signing) - cap space was there and you don't lose Saad. Or how bout the Leddy move the summer before (wait until the last possible minute and get crap)...how bout that Ville Pokka...it only took Stan 3 years to figure out he needed move guys at or before the draft with Shaw...ridiculous.
Stan had a nice summer this year and has added some quality younger defensemen and some grit/depth to the bottom lines. However NMCs and overpays certainly have had an effect on shaping the roster. It'll be interesting to see what he does here by the TDL.
As far as Q - he's been here a long time and it might be time for a new voice in the room and he gets kicked upstairs. But you're talking about a HOF 3time Cup coach. I don't think it happens that quickly. But that PP is just God awful. |

It's all of the above, not the one thing.
It's lacking talent
It's lacking effort
It's poor coaching
It's poor decision's made by the front office
All of these things are coming together and have resulted in the product we saw on the ice last night.
And It's only going to get worse... |

JJ, Is Stan Bowman interested in Shea Theodore? I am at the Wolves game this morning going to keep an eye on that Russian kid also , Does Las Vegas still of the Blackhawks a player? That is why am asking about Shea Theodore. |

Shea Theodore is property of Vegas... if that's what you're asking.
I can see 0 scenarios where he is made available for trade at this point (unless someone offered something stupid for him of course) |
