Asked Bowman about Seabrook's contract: "He’s a leader, he’s a warrior, he’s a very effective player. I’m not concerned about his contract."
Bowman on D rotation: "It’s better than the alternative when you’ve got 4 defensemen you have faith in and you’re scrambling to find 5 & 6." - pdx2ord
Of course Bowman is gonna say that about Seabrook's contract. Stan's the guy who gave him that horrible contract.

Blackhawks look like they're still at the blackjack table. Getting badly out played so far. |

Duncan Keith normally doesn't get his shot blocked from the point, are you fin kidding me Konroyd - BetweenTheDots
I heard that as well....Konroyd often brutal....would love Troy Murray to alternate in to the TV side on occasion until Edzo gets well. |

2 days off and another poor 1st period...since the gm 1-3 most of their 1st period have been not very good - bogiedoc
Anytime Q wants to move Hayden up from the 4th like would be fine with me. Our team structure is so bad all over the ice. Do we practice? Three Hawks within 10ft of each other in the D zone isn’t a recipe for anything good. |

Time to lower the standards and the expectations....and then you start to see things from a whole new perspective.... |

Can anyone explain to me the Hawks PP structure? It literally gives the puck holder less options.
Umbrella is a recipe for 2 on 1 rushes back the other way. |

Hope you all are doing well. No time to be around much with work, travel and trying to write here.
As a side note, thought some of you might want to see what Carcus did for his son for Halloween - turned him into a Zamboni driver

I am starting to think like you but will wait until Christmas before lowering my expectations on the Hawks. |

Offensive zone board to board pass attempts on EVERY o-zone entry. What happened to the North-South game we saw against Pitt + CBJ???
PUT THE PUCK AND BODIES ON NET, and then the cross ice pass will open up after you establish the direct to the net threat. Ugh. |

We had one hell of a run though, 3 Cups, tons of fun along the way. Natural regression over time, an aging core, nothing you can do really to stop it. However it is debatable that the GM has made some decisions that may have caused the regression to start sooner/become more rapid. |

I guess the Blackhawks are still on vacation
5 shifts between 10 and 15 seconds in the ozone
Vegas, 2 in the teens, 20, 22, 22, 25, 29 and 40 seconds
Pathetic pathetic effort |

This is a clinic by the Expansion Team right now. - EnzoD
God we look like crap...another bad start after a lay off. Knights skating all over us.
Dribbler gets by CC. But the guy has carried the team so far and will continue to do so. Offense needs to get going here. Nice play by Hayden the bright spot. |

Isn't it crazy how simple that seems for fans like us to understand, and yet time and time again teams seem to fail to grasp the concept. Unfortunately the Hawks are one of these teams far too often. |

How about some switching up of the lines , leave the first line the same, put Anisamov Back with Patrick Kane and let Nick Schmaltz or DeBrincat play the other wing, Ryan Hartman is a damn third line player , let him center or play wing with Patrick Sharp on the third line with the other that doesn’t step in on the second line, and leave the fourth line alone for now, but I agree John Hayden eventually will be a top nine player. |

Overall I don't really mind our forwards, its mainly the defense that concerns me. I think its in shambles and a MAJOR problem that can't be repaired IMO.
But ya know what, sure, why not change up the lines. We've got nothing to lose. And i agree the one line that needs to stay the same is the top line, they show the most consistency by far. |
|
|
|
Schmaltz really timid along the boards
De once again making an ill advised pass, gots to go back behind the net with the puck if the pass across the ice isn't open.
Please Q just put our 4th line on three power play
Honestly aren't our core players suppose to look like the best players on the ice, night in and night out? |

I agree with others, Michael Kempny should be playing, he is a good-sized kid and place a solid game, let him play with Connor Murphy and just mix mash the others, I’m not sold That little Forsling or the other kid Oesterle , As most are, those guys are too small to be defense they need to bulk up to about 185 to 205 pounds

Dots, You’re preaching to the choir buddy, when it comes to Nick Schmaltz, I agree with you also hear, that’s why I posted with simple Jack about possibly switching up some of these lines

Forwards are supposed to score, especially 5x5.
Hawk forwards aren’t - only 9 goals 5x5 in the last 7 games.
