I always thought it would take a couple of years for him to figure it out - don't know if he's grown any (weight / muscle), but the skill was always there (just not the engagement).
He was moved to allow the movement of Bickell - too bad no one figured out Bickell's problem (and I don't mean at all to make light of it) before the deal. - StLBravesFan
Is what it is. Canes were happy to have Bickell for the short time they did. Guy was a class act all the way. |

Time to see how the Hawks respond, looks like Q is sending a message.

Blackhawks skating laps at the end of practice. This is unusual.

Joel Quenneville doesn't sound or look very happy as he ends practice and leaves the rink. - breadbag
@johndietzdh
Q dropped at least three F bombs after making guys skate their asses off to end practice.
He then abruptly left the ice. |

Poor Hjalmarsson...having to play for pretty much the weakest team and then injured.
"The Arizona Coyotes picked up their first win of the season on Monday night, but it came at a cost.
Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said Tuesday defenceman Niklas Hjalmarsson is without a timeline after sustaining an upper-body injury against the Philadelphia Flyers." |

JJ, I’m sorry to see you go but understand when new opportunities present themselves. I’ll have great memories of the battles with the Kings years back and remember the passion for our teams that achieved the ultimate goal of a Stanley Cup and me being banned lol.
Best of luck in your future endeavors!

Q dropped at least three F bombs after making guys skate their asses off to end practice.
He then abruptly left the ice. - JRoenick97
Couple of crazy (or maybe not-to-so crazy) hypotheses:
1) Q was summoned to a management meeting to state he's on the heat seat (i.e. will be replaced soon if the ship doesn't turn around) and he's showing passive aggressiveness against the team for putting him in this situation.
2) Q is in a blame game amongst certain players, likely veterans, who mouthed off or talked back about the state of the team and where/who the problems are.
3) Q is seeing factions forming amongst the players and maybe even assistant coaches.
4) Q simply trying to light a fire under the team. |

I'd say 2 and 4. He's hinted in his other interviews that guys on the team need to step up. |

If he stays in a points slump, probably 6-10ish more games would be my guess. Worked for Schmaltz |

Yeah, don't know that it's necessarily his fault, but if it's ot working at the NHL level right now, I'd be letting him gain a bit more confidence in the AHL for a couple weeks before giving him another shot with the big club. |

It might not even be all his fault if he does get sent down, but being kept up on a team that is struggling might hurt his development more than help it. |

He falls under the least of their problems. The other guys on his line need to pick up their play. |

JJ - congrats on the new gig, we will miss ya here. Im sure a lot of us will bounce back and forth to the new site. Make it happen!!!!
Before you are officially done with HB, any nuggets or predictions of what you think the Hawks will do or youve heard thru the vine (big trade, little trade, demotions to the Rock, Q, etc).
Thanks for everything you have done for the group, we wish you the best. |

Agreed entirely, just not sure it's great for him to be saddled with the shambling corpse of Anisimov if he continues his current play. |
