They might. They might not. The team has improved but I still think Benning is an idiot and I think his long term plan for the team has changed at least twice in his 5 years here. The " they're slowly improving and other GM's are worse" doesn't instill me with confidence. He's made some sh*tty trades, some sh*tty picks and some sh*tty UFA signings. Despite that the team is gradually getting better. I hate that so many fans are happy with mediocrity.

But ironically, IMO, it was that swagger that created an atmosphere of winning in locker room and eventual success on the ice.

I think we look decent. Now that last season is a little more removed I think people might quickly forget just how important goaltending was. I'm not sure we replicate that performance, which not only saved our ass on many nights but also outright won us many games.

I'm not looking at stats, I just mean performance. (eye test?) The D should be vastly improved, so I assume the stats will be as well. If we get average goaltending I think we miss the playoffs again.
