I saw a Toronto Star head reporter state that Pollieve has pissed off a very large portion of conservative supporters of Ukrainian heritage with his very misinformed stance on the Canadian Gov't support for the Ukrainian War effort.

Just a start but his idiotic Harperism views are showing, the reporter likened it to Trump style remarks.

The reporters also said if the liberal caucus backs Trudeau it will not end well for Justin, more like a conservative minority.

I guess what I’m wondering is where someone would decide they need to be “a boy” or “a girl” rather than being gay, for example. I have to think it’s a much tougher road forming intimate relationships.

Ole Justin has won three elections, 2015, 2019, and 2021. He had no business winning the last two elections but here he is. Never underestimate the voting power of southern Ontario. They have had a taste of conservative populism in Ford and they can't stand it. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin wins again by the slimmest of margins with help from the NDP.

He didn't really win though, technically yes he did, but, he hasn't had the populous vote in the past two elections. The whole Canadian system is poor and needs to be overhauled. We need to break from the British monarchy and create a Canadian republic and identity, as it's slowly eroding away.

I will give Justin some credit as he did commission a study in 2016 to look into alternatives to our first-past-the-post voting system. The Special Committee on Electoral Reform proposed two changes: The first was to replace Canada's traditional first-past-the-post model with a proportional system of representation. Second, it recommended that the idea be put to a referendum.

Here's what that would have looked like in 2019:



Will change actually deliver better democracy or a better, more representative House of Commons or government? I have no idea, but one problem I see is proportional representation creates governing coalitions. Not great to get work done. You only have to look at other countries like Italy to see where coalition leads. Chaos.

I live on UBC campus. I can not vote in Vancouver Municipal elections because it's not considered a part of Vancouver. Not part of any jurisdiction. Essentially no-man's land.
