What are you proposing that we shell out $250K for every patient that requires surgery?

Isn't that better than spending it on Liberal slush-fund things, JT's holidays or giving it to a foreign government? The money belongs to the people. Use it on the people!

Nice cherry picking!
Find the one story about the rich, privileged person who paid for surgery and blame the last 30 years of gov't neglect on the current left of centre parties. No wonder you ran away to America to cower in the desert.

The healthcare system badly needs federal funding, the provincial governments can’t take on 80% of this burden, clearly. It’s time to start investing in our own people and programs.

My hatred for the current Liberal/NDP communist government has me wild. All governments are eventually corrupt, that said, it’s time to change things in Canada. I would do the same as this woman, seek my own treatment, because I could, but poor people like you shouldn’t have to make that choice at home and take on that burden.

Your hyperbole is exhausting.

But yes, get the (frank)ing NDP out of government in BC!

Pretty sure this Healthcare shortage has been on-going, with very little done by the BC United or the federal Conservatives. If I am not mistaken, they actually made cuts all over the Healthcare system.

I will be surprised if the NDP isn't re-elected in BC, the other parties are a mess.

Yes...it's a product of years of neglect by all governments, provincial and federal, across all provinces. It's just time to start fixing and re-investing into the system for the Canadian people.

Is the alternative any better? WHY are there only two choices in BC? No the Greens aren't a realistic choice, at this point.

You are an American complaining about the Canadian system. Also, you claim everything is better in the land of milk & honey.
Fucking Americans can't see past their toes. The most selfish civilization on this decaying planet.

I'm actually a Canadian citizen, I always will be because I was born there, furthermore, I'm not an American citizen, I'm a permanent resident, therefore I can't vote in federal, state, and most municipal elections down here.

We just live here because it's warmer, plain and simple.

Yes, absolutely, golfing in 75 degree sunny winter weather is much better than rainy 45 degree weather - no doubt.

It's 71 degrees today in Scottsdale, it's 45 degrees in Victoria BC, big difference. But I don't imagine school was a big thing with you.

You know what I'm talking about.
Over 100 days of 50 degree + weather, where most spent the summer sheltering indoors as air conditioning sucks the Colorado River dry.

We’re talking about downsizing and buying a place in Sicily. 300 days of sunshine a year. We were there for two weeks in November and it was 20-25 every day . It does get stinking hot in the summer though.

I've never been, but that sounds sweet. The valley of the sun (Phoenix) averages about 300 days of sunshine a year, but like Marwood mentions, it's just miserable in the summer time. From the beginning of June through the end of August it's 45 degrees Celsius on a daily basis, it's not fun. Thus we aren't spending anymore summers in AZ. We'll be heading north to the island.

I see that America is celebrating breaking their previous record for the most mass shootings in a year. 38 so far and the year isn't over yet, they might make it to 40.
God bless America!

You can thank the Liberal/Democratic government for that. The streets are full of criminals robbing stores without consequences, the border officers have been instructed to "deter" illegal aliens crossing but not to stop them. It's bad in both countries with the Liberals in charge.

I think I read a Bloomberg report that indicated Canadian shootings have risen 869% this year, if you think it's simply an American problem you've got your head in the sand.
