I know it's tough, I've been through similar things with friends. You've known them a long time, great memories and something changes. It's nobodies fault, people and circumstances go different directions. Hopefully you get some closure.

Not sure who you are quoting in some of your comments, but I will say that up north here, not many are complaining about a new hospital being built in Terrace, many dollars being contributed to real infrastructure( water and sewer) in Prince Rupert, some major work being planned for Prince George hospital, which is a very important hospital for us Northerners, as it is reliied upon for services from people from as far west as Haida Gwaii, as far North as Fort Nelson and as far South as Williams Lake.
I also doubt that people are complaining about new xchools being built, or the new 3 billion dollar hospital being built in Surrey.
I realize you are American and think privatization is awesome, but a majority of those North of border appreciate most of the systems here, even with the problems that exist.
I am sure you, or at least your parents, appreciated being able to put you through sports and your education here in Canada, all of which get subsidized by taxpayers.

Why are you comparing the two systems, apples & oranges, neither is like the other. In recent years I’ve personally found the US healthcare system much much better in terms of access and care. The Canadian government healthcare systems across the country is a broken mess. So many horror stories. You can thank the BC NDP and federal Liberals for that in British Columbia.
