Why are you comparing the two systems, apples & oranges, neither is like the other. In recent years I’ve personally found the US healthcare system much much better in terms of access and care. The Canadian government healthcare systems across the country is a broken mess. So many horror stories. You can thank the BC NDP and federal Liberals for that in British Columbia.

Look at 2024 reports, Canada isn’t even in the top 30 anymore, the past decade the system has seriously eroded. I’ll link it below. The Canadian healthcare system is a dying mess, for a lot of reasons. But it still has its strength and weaknesses. It’s never as black and white as you portray it, as you do with most things, which speaks to your lack of intelligence and understanding of the broader picture, they are two completely different systems….US vs Canada.

The US has a healthcare business, not a healthcare system. Despite spending (I think) the largest portion of their GDP on healthcare, when compared to other nations healthcare spending, the US lacks in rankings due in large part because that money doesn’t go towards patient care, it goes towards hospitals, healthcare workers and research. If you’re in the healthcare business, a doctor, you’ll make the most money in the US.

There’s a lot of subjective opinions, even from healthcare workers themselves, as there’s patient care and healthcare provider experience. Access vs cost. Taxation. Cost of medicine. Etc. There are countries which are great for healthcare workers but not patients (United States), it’s a cost prohibitive private business, even though it’s subsidized by the federal and state governments. It’s actually illegal for hospitals to not provide care in emergency situations.

Achieving a good balance of healthcare worker & patient care is a difficult thing, so I’m told. It’s funny, this is something that’s debated in our family on a regular basis, my father-in-law is a retired GP, my mother-in-law was a nurse, my brother-in-law is a surgeon and my older brother is an anesthesiologist.

I don't disagree with you on the declining Healthcare system here in Canada. Doctors and Nurses and lab people, etc. have been raising concerns about the lack of people coming into the health profession, for at least 20 years now, which get ignored by many different governments.
The continued lack of I vestments in technology upgrades and new hospitals has also been a big problem here, as you know.
This is a very Similar problem to what has gone on with trades in this country, which has been an issue since the 1990 or longer.
Our generation has to take some responsibility for this problem, as many of us encouraged our kids to get into co l lege for things other than healthcare, trades and education, which are all professions that are lacking not just in Canada, but around the world.
Hopefully things will start swinging in the right direction, as I am starting to see more and more young adults looking at careers other than being on a computer all day.

Like with most socialist systems, there’s just way too much bureaucracy within it. If you look at Canada in it’s entirety, that remains true with almost anything that deals with Canadian government agencies. There are just way too many layers within most things Canadian. I read that Trudeau has increases public sector jobs by 40% since 2015. Public sector jobs are outpacing private sector jobs by 4 to 1…that is socialism 101.

The amount of time in Canada it takes to issue a license or permit, as a general statement, when compared to other parts of the industrialized world is completely ridiculous. Most other countries projects are in the first phase of production before Canada will issue a permit to build.
