Wanna read something hilarious and sad at the same time? From December 2016.
https://www.vox.com/2016/...r-health-insurance-repeal - RealityChecker
It is sad and hilarious.
Why did the tax brackets shift so much yet nothing was done for the lowest bracket? It's pretty sad when we have to make create tax breaks for the top 10%, so that they can create more artificial wealth.
The real wealth comes from the overall health and financial picture of your entire population. That way you're insulated against a fallout. |

That's how you do it though, right? Scream about liberal elitists and that the virus is a hoax.
The story was interesting and came back in here to share it with Mrs. Marwood. I should get back to the other thread where I'm defending what garbage Benning is. |

Justin Trudeauās handling of COVID-19 crisis lifts his approval to highest level since 2017
The latest study from the non-profit Angus Reid Institute finds 54 per cent of Canadians now endorse him, a 21-point increase since the end of February.
i'm pretty sure that justin is behind the coronavirus. i'm not saying that he's the only person to start the pandemic but things just seems too coincidental.

I thought the Illuminati are a council of several prophets? He may be behind it but he's not alone. No one ever mentions Ben Mulroney. |

If he can extend benefits beyond the next election he'll get a majority. |

during campaigning, policies are mostly just words. most of us don't see or feel how those policies directly affect the populace.
not so for this pandemic. the government's (at all levels) actions are tangible now. everyone is affected on a day-to-day basis. people will vote on whether they agreed or disagreed with the response.
it really will be a referendum on the pandemic response.
interesting times indeed. |

I really give props to my government. I understand it's not a populated province and demographics slowed down the spread. I also understand it's a poorer province and they shut it down right away. Not much sense in keeping it shut down longer than necessary, and no sense at all in getting people more ill than need be, not even financially given public healthcare.
Less than 20 active cases now and 6th day in the past week no new cases. They'll open it up again soon enough and may have to shutter it again, who knows?
But I think even once it's open again people will have a better understanding of how to avoid widespread contamination. Hopefully, we'll have masks more widely available in a few weeks.

On Feb. 25, Nancy Messonnier, a CDC official, said the agency was preparing for a potential pandemic and that community spread of the virus was likely. The stock market plunged.
At a media briefing later that day, Mr. Azar sought to quell concerns, saying the virus was ācontained.ā
But it was too late. A furious Mr. Trump, flying back to Washington from India, called Mr. Azar and threatened to oust Dr. Messonnier.

"We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It's going to be just fine."
āIāve always known this is a realāthis is a pandemic. I felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic.ā
from wiki article on orwell's 1984:
Doublethink
The keyword here is blackwhite. Like so many Newspeak words, this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary. This demands a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as doublethink. Doublethink is basically the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them. |

Dude, the guy is scary. What scares me more is how much support he gets.
How can he fire people at will, deny oversight, get rid of basically anybody that opposes him.

i can see why the R's in government support him and why they publicly can't contradict him but i don't understand the general population.
you can still support him but it doesn't mean that you have to pretend he doesn't lie incessantly based on the moment. "i know he lies but... i still like his policies on x,y,z." but they don't do that, they don't acknowledge the lies/shifts in position.
basically: do these people not see it or are they lying as well? that's frightening. |

I think he has many scared not to speak out and much of the public is either convinced and/or uninformed. To borrow from the Matrix "ignorance is bliss". It's not hard to see a man that contradicts himself day-to-day, week-by-week. However, the main message is always "we're doing great!". |

why do i hear that in jim robson's voice a la linden.
it's going to be a toss up in my opinion. it'll come down to michigan, pennsylvania and florida. i think florida goes to trump but the other two i think could turn.
note that biden was born in penn and was senator of delaware that borders penn. he's a known quantity there and has had blue collar support from there.
also of note is how close the 2016 actually was. while the electoral college was 300 (approx) to 220, the aforementioned states were the difference and trump's wins therein were razor thin.
cue kaptaan to say it was a landslide.
in any event, let's be honest, the pandemic and where we are in october will make all the difference. |

Sure, just like your prediction of gas prices increasing?
First off, he didn't get the majority of votes first time around but instead won the electoral. Secondly, the republicans have lost more elections than they have won since Trump became prez. All signs point to a defeat but I don't trust America to make sound decisions so have a tendency to agree with you.
Trump as prez and democrats controlling the house and senate. That's going to be a real poop show.
We are witnessing the decline of another superpower. History repeating itself and I love it. |

This statement will be the deciding factor, with Georgia and Florida poised to lift restrictions (heavily republican) and the possibility of other republican states to follow suit, Trumps supporters may be down substantially. |

You read that wrong or I didn't explain it very well, " He might not get the majority of the people again" means he probably won't get the majority of the people, just like last time....at least it was suppose to.
Prices will go up, I was talking in the future, as in a few months from now. June contracts for oil are trading at around $22 and July is around $27 dollars. So I expect it to go up, however, I'm happy with fuel prices. |

Especially if mass amounts of people start dying from pure stupidity by opening up those states, they'll need someone to blame and Trump is an easy target. |
