Based on watching him play. He's 6'5, 200+ lbs and plays like he's half Gallagher's size. Gallagher plays like he's Weber. Habs need more warriors, not wall flowers - Takemedrunkimhome
Not every single player on the team is gonna be a gritty, hard-hitting guy. You have the physical players and you have the finesse players. I'll take his 40 goals with his flaws, no problem.
I wouldn't encourage trading Gallagher, obviously. But if the Jets would want a player in return to "sell" the trade to their fans and I have to include one of Domi or Gallagher... |

Well the idea is to add a scorer to this team that so desperately needs one. And I think they want to add one now rather than later and the only way to do that would be through trade since offer sheets are a waste of time and UFAs don't want to come here.. - Good On Paper
But in this scenario you are trading a 30 goal scorer...so not sure it accomplishes much considering all you lose in the Gallagher vs Laine trade off (leadership, grit, compete, complete game, locker room etc) |

Then you don't make the trade and move on to a new target |

Well if we're talking character guys, I don't think it's just Domi and Gallagher. There's also, Danault, KK, Poehling, Tatar and eventually Suzuki and Caufield. |

Fair enough. But Byron + prospect + pick is not gonna get you the scorer you want. |

I'd rather build with character and potentially lesser skill than skill that doesn't always (or often) show the will..especially knowing the contract Laine is wanting |

That's fine...then don't trade for one. If the trade isn't right you'll keep square pegging round holes. I'd rather lose with what the Habs have then lose with Laine but score more goals |

Pretty much why they traded Pacioretty. |

I loved Patches and don't want to poop on a guy after he left who was great to the team...but when he wasn't scoring it often wasn't pretty |

Dude, come on. 36, 44, 30 goals in his last three seasons. 30 goals is considered a down year for him! Character doesn't put the puck in the net. Our team had plenty of character this year but missed the playoffs. |

Politely, you suggested trading Gallagher for Laine...it's been nearly impossible to agree with anything you've stated...but I agree, it's all good, we're both coming from the right place which is wanting the Habs to win |

In a scenario where Winnipeg wants one of him or Domi. Again, I wouldn't include him in a trade proposition, but if Winnipeg asks for him, I'd consider.
I'm glad we can have a civilized conversation! |

Few things,
-alzner, lol, let’s get real
-jets don’t need goalie prospects, we had two goalies in the top 10 save % in the AHL last year and our starter is locked up long term
-our depth in D is not bad, Heinola, Samberg and Niku are all future regulars on Jets D.
-stop comparing Laine and Domi. Look at the history of the nhl and compare who’s scored as much as Laine at his age.
-Jets would absolutely want one of Drouin or Domi. Then Suzuki, then add another prospect or pick. Not saying you’d like that but that’s the cost. - Ross77
i know im late on this, but this is one of the stupidest things i have ever read on this site. Domi, who scored 2 fewer goals than Laine an outscored him overall by 22 points last season, does not compare to Laine?
