How do you know Doan isn't all the things you want in a GM?
Or is he just to likely to be part of the "old boys network"
Chalka didn't work out then? Is this what your saying now?
You should do an article on his trades and where you feel they rank today as opposed to then! |

That would take too much work for Tanner, plus objectivity isn't possible for him. |

Did Kuemper get the Conn Smyth yet or what? |

When your highest paid players combine for six points and three goals, one of which is an empty net by Hall, its time for some changes.
We had Taylor for his one great season in NJ and he never really got it going in the Playoffs. Not sure if that's on him or his supporting cast. Not sure what he is looking for in his next contract but his lack of performance post season and history of injuries is going to be a tough sell. Any way you look at it I'm happy we traded him. |

No. It's Conn Smythe Kadri. But Kerfoot is better. Top 5 JFreshcards. |

You speak of Chayka like he has a great track record.
What has he done to deserve your approval ?
Didnt he draft Barrett Hayton over Quinn Hughes, give up a solid 1st pick plus a couple very good prospects (Merkley and Bahl) to rent Hall, sign Keller way above value? |

BUT… John Chayka still is the all time champ of NHL Hitz 2003… you can’t ever take that away from him. |

Bring in Doan in a kind of Shanahan role to a degree. Mostly figurehead, but allowed to set the tone and culture of the organization, which would include hiring the GM.
Then hire Ron Hextall...one of the few old boys club members that actually fully embraces analytics and knows how to build a program through the draft.
Then hire Gerard Gallant...or really anyone that doesn’t rhyme with “Fochett”
Come on coyotes...do the right thing! |

Taylor Hall was supposedly discussing a new contract with Arizona. Not sure if this changes his perspective or the teams. I don't think there is any doubt he's a high quality player but he's not and elite level talent. |

Agreed how long can that non hockey market fanbase accept mediocrity. Something has got to give in the desert poope is hitting the fan in Buff but that city loves hockey. |

Sounds like you are saying this team is not very good. Not a real contender. Led by an awful coach. And just propped up by a goalie who should get some Conn Smythe votes.
If Chayka was such a genius then surely he would have come to the same conclusion too?
Yet he went out and wasted a bunch of assets, including a 1st round pick, to rent Taylor Hall, who barely moved the needle. Strange move by a genius GM. Or maybe he wasn't so smart after all? |

Absolutely high end talent but not Elite. We definitely got the better part of that deal considering NJ was never going to re-sign him. Does this change what teams are willing to pay him contract wise? |

Taylor Hall needs to go to a team where he's not counted on to be a Franchise player. He's better suited to be a complimentary star player on a Cup contender like Hossa in Chicago complimenting Toews and Kane. Or like Phil Kessel in Pittsburgh complimenting Crosby and Malkin. |

Coyotes are in NHL purgatory. Too good to bottom out and not good enough to compete for a Cup. Capped out and no room to improve. |

The fact that Hall is just a good player not great will compound it.

I bet he is a Dev next season. And he did the Devs a big favor in this rental deal. Yotes have 1.5M Cap space next season (6.8M if you factor in Hossa's LTIR). Nowhere near enough with just 9 forwards, and 6 D inked. They would need to move a Goalie, and one of Grabner/Kessel/Schmalts/Dvorak if possible to free up enough space. |

This is what I usually refer to as "The Minnesota Wild Zone". Perennial contender to for the last spot or two in the playoffs, never a real threat to advance, and never bad enough to land a high-end pick. Meh drafting. |

Im hoping not especially if he is looking for 10 mil or higher. I'm also not sure he fits our needs or he would even consider playing for a team that is at least a few years away from a SC run. For the money I think we can do better. Yes absolutely did us a huge favor but I don't think it was planned. |

I pray to God you are wrong. When it comes to playoffs, the only Box Score you can find Hall on is the Milk Carton ...Missing. His point production will never be what it once was no matter who you surround him with. As far as the Yotes....Shero actually would be a good fit as GM. He really didn't get the owners support in Jersey. Keep Sullivan on as Assistant GM. Yotes have a good coaching staff, maybe Hall would resign if Shero is there...They both got along it seems. Hall understands that his Big Pay day will not happen anymore. |

John Chayka was awful looking back, then he quit on the team when he realized what he put together... all class. |

Haha the milk carton is a good chirp, and yes Hall doesn't have many playoff points. Regardless, he drives plays on his own accord and would be our top player if he returned. His market value took a hit due to the flat cap, and his play in AZ, but he would be money well spent if he is under 8.5M AAV |
