a few things the sabres could do right now to really make them a playoff team
trade montour casey, hutton, miller
get a goalie
sign chara
sign soderberg - homiedclown
Chara is done. He may get a deal, but he looked awful last season. |

Who wins a 3-way tie between Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Tennessee? - buffalofan19
No one has a head-to-head sweep. AFC record would be the next tiebreaker,
steelers and bills would have 3 afc losses, titans 4
so we would then win by head to head with steelers, I think

If it goes by points then Tennessee. They have 1 more than KC for 1st in the league right now. Bills are 23 back and Pittsburgh is like 70 back. Butt I don't know if that's what they go by.. - Keepcomplaining
no it would not
he is assuming steelers, bills and titans are 12-4
no team has a sweep over the other two teams
next tiebreaker would be afc record, titans have 4 afc losses, bills and steelers have 3 |

3 way tiebreakers
1. head-to-head sweep.
2. AFC record would be the next tiebreaker
3. record vs common opponents, but there needs to be four common among all three teams
4. Strength of Victory. |

if we are tied with brows, and titans at 12-4, and steelers lose the division
they also all have 4 afc losses, so we get in with the 2 seed |

Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of the two-club format).
Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games among the clubs).
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in common games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.
Coin toss
I think it's the Bills. All teams beat each other. Division doesn't matter. Common games have to be a minimum of four, and the Bills didn't play four common games against Tennessee (only Broncos and Steelers). Best Conference record. Bills and Steelers would have 3 losses in conference (both lost to an NFC team), while Titans lost 4 AFC games (Bengals, Colts, Steelers, Browns). Means it goes back to #1. Bills beat Steelers, therefore they win. |

I agree. Why would anyone even suggest getting rid of McCabe when he truly is by far their best defensive defenceman.

The debate from yesterday aside. It’s amazing how much this team always operates like it’s a high school team. Just always top level incompetence
I cannot believe they are going in with the same two goalies right now.
It’s absolutely incredible
They both had runs of just awful play. Ullmark less so but he was brutal on a lot of occasions

I believe they addressed that with Hall, Staal, and Cozens making the jump.
Scoring goals should not be the issue.
Losing 4-3 games could be though |

We did decently on defense last season. Think that's going to slip? Or just think that there is some regression coming there? |

And I think the Bills can beat the Chiefs if they are able to keep Mahomes on the sideline and score on methodical time consuming drives.
Whether that means Allen is running it himself or not the most efficient way of killing clock is by having some semblance of a running game.
If the Bills happen to substitute the run game for the short passing game to sustain long drives then so be it. Maybe that’s the way it will be done in 2020 and beyond are these quick hitters in the passing game. It still serves the same purpose as the ground game in consuming clock. It shortens the game and gives Mahomes less possessions and less time.
The Bills defence and special teams units may very well make them the best overall team in the AFC at the moment. Although the wins over SF, Pittsburgh, and Denver’s AHL affiliate have lost a little bit of luster with the way those said teams have performed of late. - Pegullaville
The Bills do have multiple 5 plus minute TD drives this season...and they do it by passing. Seriously this horse you’re continue to beat to death is annoying and it’s not even the right horse.
In fact Buffalo is 5th in time of possession this season |

The Risto/Montour pair is going to HEAVILY regress.
They had a very unsustainable on ice sv %.
I really hope they don’t lean on them again |

He's young and played good on a weak team. Room to grow for sure but he'll be fine for us with some better play in the d-zone. Plus I'm sure they didn't expect Hutton to lose an eye and not be able to play as much. If his eye is good, like he says it is I have no problems with this tandem. And imma keep addressing ya'll about it. I remember when the board wanted Lehner gone when he couldn't win a shootout that one year. Look at him since, he wasn't the problem. Neither is the Swede named Linus. |

Sure if everything goes out way they could be ok. I wouldn’t bank on it.
It was a no brainer position to upgrade with multiple trade/FA options out there
We don’t have a #1 goalie and our #2 might not be playable
There’s just no excuse |

They're also the best team in the league on 3rd down this year. That probably contributes to time of possession more than most other things.

Right and my horse has everything to do with how you win in the playoffs against elite opponents.
But for arguments sake in the one matchup against the Chiefs this year was Kansas City not balanced on offence because the game dictated them to be ?
In the battle of quite possibly the two best teams in the AFC and two best QB’s in the AFC the Chiefs running game was a huge part of winning that game due to the Bills forcing their hand and daring them to beat them on the ground.

So you’re back to crediting the run game and not the “threat of the pass” but when Cleveland stomped Tennessee through the air it was because the “threat of the run”
You just go back and forth from narrative to narrative |
