Oh Cirelli extended the day Kucherov is shelved

It’s amazing how these teams almost always get out of the terrible Cap jams they put themselves in

Would have been nice to play Boston earlier in the year sans Pasternak and Bergeron.
But oh well. - Pegullaville
Yeah, good point
We’ll just have to re-injure them 😂😂😂 |

To be fair. Kuch is still a great player and is actually hurt this time around
It’s not like Hossa on the IR and stuff like that |

I don't begrudge Tampa for making a move like that. I just want my team to be smart enough to make those moves. |

Oh don’t worry he’ll be back for the playoffs to play once the salary cap is irrelevant.
Cap circumvention at its finest.
Tampa can stay afloat without Kucherov in the mean time in that division, especially if Stammer is back |
|

Nice. Good looks - jdfitz77
The spacing of the games looks good.
The Sabres need their big boy pants on right away.
And after watching the world juniors game last night. I expect a lot of rust and sloppy play |

There is an opening for assistant GM and Okposo is already on the pay roll.
Seems like a good fit.
He’s having an allergic reaction to the top 9 of the roster so let’s LTIR him. Can put it down on the media release as “post concussion syndrome” |

Sure
But someone on here was saying there was talk of them taking on Zetterberg’s BS contract to LTIR it & give themselves room
It would be nice to see these teams get screwed with their terrible contracts like we have been with Okposo
I’m just being whiny- I’ll stop |

Well we do get to start earlier than most teams,
so hopefully that’ll help us get off to a quick start
We need all the help we can get

I actually liked how he played last year for the most part

He’s a great 4th liner.
Seems like a great human being too.
Unfortunate circumstance but it’s a business and he’s not earning his salary. |

I agree, it's a greasy move. A one way contract player should only be eligible for the playoffs if he has dressed for 1 regular season game. Two way contract player 1 game in the AHL. |

Mitt resigned. 1 yr 874K
Which is what he deserves and earned
I mentioned this before. If mitts comes back a fat turd. Trade him immediately or this year. Let him rot on the practice squad |

NHL teams are already basically practicing. The Sabres just put out a video saying players are coming back now.
So the few extra real practices don’t mean much |

He was a bad GM. The new one I’m afraid is worse. Coupled with meddling owners
Saw a tweet today and someone here mentioned it previously that the Sabres passing on Rossi was a handshake agreement that happened during the Staal trade.
I sincerely hope that’s not true, because it would be an all time dumb trade to give up a much better 18 year old prospect for one year of an aging player - sbroads24
Quinn was not put on the top line for world juniors because Rossi is a "much better" prospect. So is Hockey Canada off their rocker too? C'mon man, not liking the pick is one thing and you could make an argument why you would have picked Rossi but it's still somewhat of a crapshoot and we desperately need a goal scoring right winger. |

I believe they put Quinn on the top line because he is a natural goal scorer and has the capability of finishing the offence that Cozens and Dach create.
Also allows them to move McMichael to another line to give them scoring throughout 4 lines.

Comparing what guys cost previously to what their cost is in Covid times is completely ignoring the economics of today - jdfitz77
Or maybe the players he acquired just sucked?
To me it proves what a horrible GM he was and why he's unemployed. 7/9 signed for under $1.5m this year. He overpaid in terms of cap space and assets for all of them |

Did you just discover free agency? - sbroads24
The point is that the caliber of scrub he traded for is available in free agency every year. If they were placeholders, that's the route to take so you get them for free. He thought these guys were good. That's why he traded for them |

Every single player botts traded for ...... magically pooped the bed
Pre Sabres. Miller. Sheary. Berglund vesey montour were all decent to good players for the roles they were brought in for
They come here and all suck and have below career years.
So those players who had decent analytics and stats. Magically sucked.
So who knows. At the time of the trades. We were all fine with the moves. (Yes even ROR ) |

Rossi is a much better prospect. I’ll stand by that statement purely based on numbers and their projections from different analysts
There are analysts and scouts who believe he could be as good as the third best prospect in that draft. There was a scouting profile I posted a while back where out of 7 different rankings he was a consensus top 7 pick and every single ranking had him between 4-7
The same scouting profile on Quinn had exactly 1 of the 7 rank him at or before 8 where we took him and as low as 23.
Rossi is the complete package player. He’s just small.
Quinn looks like a great pick if we drafted 12-15th |

Sheary had one good year when he played with Crosby, Vesey has always been Vesey (he was 3 points off his career points average), Sobotka always sucked, Berglund got tricked and quit. Frolik and Simmonds were over the hill.
I will give him credit for Kahun which Adams (frank)ed up
All-in-all he traded for overpaid scrubs who sucked and he got the result he should have anticipated.
Hence his unemployment |

He acquired Jeff Skinner for absolutely nothing
He acquired Henri Jokiharju for absolutely nothing
His depth additions sucked. Like a lot of depth additions around the league
The guy was a bad GM because he failed to replace the 2C after ROR pouted his way out of town, and failed to trade Ristolainen for a forward
Everything else was always so exaggerated |

Kahun
Jokiharju
Miller
Pominville
Scandella
We’re all decent to great players.
I also think Tage Thompson has a shot at being really good |

Botts tried to nickel and dime trades and hoped they all turned out like skinner.
The stats and analytics did back the moves he made too
