Bottom 6 is very offensive and needs to be chased out of hockey speak.
Top 6 reeks of privilege and must be throw out of our collective thinking.
Let's not number the lines, for it sheds discomfort through a significant portion of the roster and diminshes self-value.
JC!
Spread the wealth, maximize asset production
Skinner - Eichel - Routsolainen (who can keep up with that line's, speed and snipers)
Hall - Staal - Cozens (Hall is the line driver, Staal mentors Cozens)
Olofsson - Eakin - Reinhart (tertiary scoring)
Girgensons - Lazar - Asplund (speed and defensively aware)
Reider (PK specialist, replaces Girgs on 1st PK unit)
Taxi
Okposo, Tage (Kyle, this what the next 3 years look like for you..well, last 2 on a bus...let me show you this comfy office for a Community Relations Manager...pays $5m per for 2 years guaranteed)

He, Asplund and Lazar are competing for the same spot (4C). Thompson, Mittlestadt and Ruotsalainen are competing for the same spot (3/4LW). Rieder and Okposo are competing for the same spot (4RW).
It wouldn't shock me if Sheahan won the job. I think he has a better chance than Asplund and the same chance as Lazar |

I think you've hit on the best possible usage of Eakin, which is to lean offensively by giving him quality wingers that can score, as he can produce offensively a bit when he has talented wingers.
He is not good in a heavily defensive role.
I'd also lean towards Sheahan as the 4th line Center if he has shown he can play Center effectively in the past. |

I don't know much of Sheahan, so J'll believe your opinion.
There was an article on Hockey Writers months ago that supported my thoughts from last year about kicking Larsson to the curb and letting Lazar grow into that role...Lazar was very close in several metrics measuring defensive accumen among Sabres forwards....Larsson, Okposo and Girgs were top 3, followed very closely by Lazar...plus Lazar has better speed, improved offensive skills and better FO win rate around 53% (IIRC).
I know Boss is expecting Girgs to surprise us...I feel like Lazar is the guy...I'm pulling hard for him...but competition is a great thing!

In basically 3 quarters!
Seriously the defense is starting to come to form as well
The offense is clicking
I don't want to get ahead of myself but I can't help but think this comes down to Buffalo at KC...
With what Allen has done in Prime Time this year he has shown the ability to stay poised and calm when all eyes are on him. Call it a mini preview of the playoffs.
If he keeps it up there is no reason they don't make it to the AFC Championship game. |

We talked about this somewhat yesterday, but I think this is why I want them to play to win this week. They're arguably playing the best football of any team in the league right now (maybe Green Bay is playing better but that's it), but your team is still young and relatively inexperienced. I'm not sure I trust them to be able to take their foot off the gas pedal and accelerate again. A team with more playoff experience can do that, but the Bills are not that. I look at Kansas City last year and look at how they played, including in Week 17. That being said, the #2 seed not having a bye also kind of plays into that too, and playing a Kansas City team is tough enough as it is, let alone a much more rested one. I think if I had to make a decision right this second, I would still say "go for it".

I fully admit I was dead wrong about Diggs. He’s much better then I gave him credit for. As a Packers fan, Glad to see that Minnesota mismanaged him so bad. |

I couldn't disagree more...but it doesn't make me right.
I dont worry about them being ready ... McDermott's 2-1 record off the Bye Week tips this for me in favor of not "resting" players, but doing everything possible to avoid risk of injury.
Give the starters 2 series then start pulling them, and pull them fast.
Or better yet, wait until the 4th Qtr to play most of the starters...gets them some game action hopefully when the Fish have pulled their starters...do that if the goal is give them playing time to keep them ""in game shape" so to speak. |

No fear of injury?
What happens if someone gets injured in a meaningless game?
Why would tomlin, a top coach sit his players? |

Because his team is older, hasn't had a real bye week, and isn't playing that well.

I'll give you 2/3
Older - fair , especially Ben
No real bye week - good point
Isn't playing that well - wouldn't some extra playing time help get the team find their game?

the goal is to win the entire thing
the higher the seed, the better the odds
I doubt he gets heat unless the steelers are down by 20 points if an injury occured

He could also be bluffing. Big advantage playing last.
