simple question
you need ID to buy beer or stay in a hotel
should you need an ID to vote
yes or no will work
if you can't answer that question, there is no way possible to have an honest conversation on the subject - homiedclown

Is it really going to make your life complete for Homie to admit he was wrong? If so I truly feel sorry for you. - c1067

I'm saying that after making a pretty good, strong statement on August 14 ("Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans") he then walked it back on August 15 ("very fine people on both sides") out of fear of alienating the worst part of his base.
If he stuck to his business principles, gave up twitter and stopped running his mouth, he'd be in a different situation.
He was so worried about keeping his base that he never thought about expanding his base - jcragcrumple
But Crag....not everyone there was KKK, or a NAZI, or a white supremacist. A lot of people were just there, with their families, to protest the removal of a statute and the renaming of a park. That was the point. There WERE good people on both sides. There were also utter a-holes on both sides. People went there, fully suited up black-bloc style, on both sides. I continue to be amazed at your inability, or unwillingness, to grasp that not-particularly nuanced nuance. |

After someone gets run over and killed at an event sponsored by neo-nazis, the alt-right and proud boys, I don't see the good people on that side. The second you find yourself at an event on the same side as Nazis, you need to ask yourself what you actually stand for.
Keep in mind this wasn't a political rally for Trump 2016, these were racists emboldened a year later.
And by no means am I calling all Trump supporters racists, but if you're at the Unite the Right rally with neo nazis, you need to ask yourself what you stand for because that's a crowd of poopbirds. And if you hang out with them, what's that make you? |

Crag, blaming an entire weekend of protests for the actions of one a-hole is absurd for obvious reasons, and you know it. Those standards applied to BLM and Antifa, in multiple instances, over the last 10 months, would have ended the rioting in short order. Anyways, there were certainly "emboldened racists" that weekend. There was also a lot of people that were *knock knock* PEACEFULLY PROTESTING a statue being removed. Whether you agree with their protest is immaterial. This occurred over the course of three days, in different areas, and you are being obviously and purposefully obtuse about it. You literally posted a link that immolates your own argument...and you can't...see...it. It's amazing. |

I still haven't heard you explain how that's true. I posted the timeline of his comments.
Trump's moral ambivalence toward the racist leanings of the worst part of his base disgusted me. I'm a centrist. Not registered for either party. He was a craven egomaniac who would say anything to rile up his base. He reaped what he sowed. Unfortunately the rest of the country will deal with his legacy of undermining democracy for at least a generation |

I think there should be federal guidelines
as long as each state meets the guideline, fine
pretty sure everyone who wants their vote to count should want that |

Legislators make the laws for the states, not attorney generals and governors. So when they change the laws, the changes they made should be null and void. |

If trump was such a champion for the racists, then explain why he got the most minority vote for a Republican in 60 years? |

I'm not going to talk for anyone but myself. Truthfully I'd much rather talk about Okposo getting waived to the taxi squad |

Because there's never a point that he walks anything back. He clearly condemns hate, a day later the White House releases a statement that "of course he condemns white supremacists, the KKK, neo-Nazis and all extremist groups" and then a day later specifically clarifies, and states "And you had people -- and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists -- because they should be condemned totally." within the very same few questions that you are getting the "fine people" comment. I'm trying to pin down your specific objection, because he, in fact, did do what you continue to claim he did not. So what's the objection? the chronology? You're a smart guy, but you're tragically wrong, and it's kind of embarrassing. You're also now deflecting. I'm a registered independent, for the record. |
