if Rieder Eakin Okposo is the third line instead of the 4th line then we have a coaching issue
too early to freak out IMO - homiedclown
Iv seen enough of Kruegmister to know what we are going to get. Run and stop the run.
Hoping he has the Allen 3rd year growth chart till you really start putting it all together. Not gonna hold my breath

If Skinner can play well with Larry, I think he could play well with Lazar, too. It may not be ideal, but with Cozens on the other side, I don't think it's as doom and gloom as it looks on the surface. - TheSabresTaco
Thats quite the understatement. I'll wait til 7:07 on January 14 before I throw the chair but this would be a horrible use of players |

Is Jeff Skinner's contract bad? Yes
Were the Sabres between a rock and a hard place with their decision to re-sign him or not? Yes
Is Jeff Skinner still a good player? Yes
Do the Sabres hate Jeff Skinner? ... Yes?
What the hell are they doing to this guy? |

Oh cool he can go from a dumpster fire to a flaming bag of poo.
He is Warren Moon all over again. You hate to see it because he is a tremendous athlete and a stand up guy.
If Houston traded him to the Jets they would only be ass-raping him even more than they already have. - 3rd GM's the charm
My NY Jets would probably do something even more stupid like trade the 2nd overall for a retiring QB |

Taco's right, Skins has been top2 lines all training camp. Krueger put some guys in different spots. It's one day, if he starts the year on the 3rd or 4th line, freak out by all means. This is premature and you're always the calming voice of reason. |

I've had enough of Ralph
Especially as it pertains to Skinner
He has done nothing to show me he is a capable NHL coach

skinner and lazar have synergy not seen by ralph since skinner and sobotka - homiedclown
Ralph just mentioned Skinner and Lazar "having success" last season |

He hasn't been great, but the lineup he inherited wasn't good obviously. I'm not sure he's had enough time, or talent to work with, to know. He did misplay Skinner last year, but Skins has been with Staal every practice. |

And I understand we don't, but the old "roll 4 lines" stuff seems to be a coaches line to me. If he shuttles Skinner down the lineup again, I'll be with ya. |

I'm a novice capologist, but this sounds generally right. When I say 'need', they'll put him on LTIR to open up cap for another guy or a trade or whatever. They have no reason to put him on there if they don't need to, as it creates overages into the next season (because the team needed to do it in the first place).
Lun can probably answer, if he's lurking. - TheSabresTaco
It's complicated, of course! First, like you said, they have no need to LTIR him now. If/when they have a few more injuries, they'll have to utilize it. It may or may not be Girgs, depending on the circumstances.
Timing matters a lot with LTIR. Last year, we had to use it to get under the cap on day 1. There's some manipulation you can do to maximize the relief. JB did it so well that we lost very little in the process. You're right that we don't automatically get it all. In season LTIR is a lot simpler.
We are going to have significant bonuses again this year, so it all matters. These 700k replacements help a lot. |

Is SKinner is on the third line, this team is in huge trouble.
Skinner becomes worthless.
Skinner sees 12 mins of ice time a night if that.
All that for a 9 million dollar man.
Sabres are in cap hell because of it. |

Hot take. Kruerger is doing everything in his power to get Skinner to waive his NMC for the expansion draft and use the money to resign Hall |

Lazar and Larsson are different players offensively though.
Larsson is a terrible shooter but semi decent playmaker and shot assist guy
Lazar doesn’t really have a good offensive trait |
