Skinner does a thing called ... scores goals. He can score 20+ goals a year in his sleep. He even was on pace for that last year. - Sabretooth9
Yes he can score but he is streaky. The problem I see with him is if he’s not scoring he’s not doing much else to make up for it. Maybe Ralph is trying to get his game to a level where he can score and isn’t a defensive liability. |

I won’t argue that.
That’s why Florida brought in Duclair
That’s why the Blues brought in Hoffman.

You can just about say this about any goal-scorer ever. Even Ovechkin is streaky and he might be the best goal-scorer ever. |

Where/ who do you see cozens with game 1 first nhl shift? - Boss34
Nobody because Cozens won't be playing in game one due to Ralph preferring Sheahan on the Lazar and Skinner line...? |

I see the logic in Kreuger trying to spread out the scoring. I do not mind having a third line of
Skinner-Eakin/Lazar-Cozens
Now if Olofsson-Staal-Reinhart are not producing then obviously you have to bump Skinner up.
In a perfect world we would have moved one of our 37 RHD for another Center to give us more depth down the middle.

I hope Olofsson improves. He was terrible at 5 on 5 with our superstar
Scored about 1/5 that Skinner did 5 on 5 with Eichel
Skinner is a ton better though. Not Olofsson’s fault - sbroads24
When making comparisons, do you ever take out the 25 goals in the 1st 40 games?
I'm not sure if it's fair to take out a 1/2 season?
Not trying to flacco this discussion, but the recent stats probably show the real skimmer. |

One thing I hate about the NHL and love about the NFL is that the NFL is a "what have you done for me lately?" league and the NHL is a "Good 'ol boys" club. A player can have an NHL career a good 5-7 years after he was worth anything because he's a "good locker-room guy" or a "great community guy" even though he's a detriment to his team on the ice. The NFL it's either put up or sell used cars.
It's maddening. |

The problem is that there is no logic here because we don't have enough people who can score in our bottom-6. We have a clear cut 6 guys who should be in our top-6, a lot of young guys who should be getting a chance on the 3rd line and about 16 vets who have no business playing in the NHL yet will continue to get middle-6 minutes in the name of "spreading the scoring out" or as I like to call it "burying your most proven goal scorer in the bottom 6". |

Because so many teams take that tactic year over year.
It's interesting the players you like and don't like when the players you like are eerily similar but worse than the players you do like, but hey, we all have player biases and our own favorites. - kingcong39
It's amazing that I am right and most people on here are wrong but so be it.
Ruusto will be in Roschester I said so, most with their glowing eyes said he will start off with the Sabres
I said I liked Thompsons skills many on here thought he was crap, Thompson is on the 1st line
I said the goalie Johansson was nowhere near as good as Miller as someone from Florida said and who said should be one of goalies, he will be in Rochester because he is not that good.
I said Skinner did not look that good early last year and that set off a sh*t show on here and guess what? He had a 14 goal year.
I said Reinhart was a 2nd line player who would top off at the low 60 pts, well he reached the low 60's he is now a 2nd line player and he always was a 2nd line player if the Sabres had better wingers.
The insider said at Free Agency that the Sabres would sign scrubs along with many others and I said be patient they aren't going into next year with the same roster and what do they do? Sign Hall among others.
I will be right that Toby Reider will be half decent
It is tough being right all the time but someone has to be

By this logic Wayne Gretzky was a poope goal-scorer because the first half of his career he had 640 goals against midget goalies in pee-wee pads and the second half of his career he had 254 goals against goalies who caught up to the game finally and got larger pads.
Either he scored 894 or he didn't. |

That's an impressive stat.
Wasn't that all without " a true superstar " center.
Staal has been good , but I thought the skinner thing was , " he was great 5 x 5 " before eichel. Without a star setup guy? |

Chicago are playing like they have no interest in winning this game whatsoever.
Drew Brees is cooked. They will not get past round 2. |

Jeff Skinner might be the Sammy Watkins of the Sabres, except less talented. Not buying into the system, not a team player so the Bills dealt him.
That was when the Bills were trying to get any talent they could but never built a team.
When McBean came they wanted to build a team that trusted the process.
Jeff Watkins
Sammy Skinner - GilPerreault11
Wait who’s less talented? Sammy Watkins hasn’t come close to anything spectacular at any of his stops. He’s like 4th/5th option right now with the most likely the best QB in football right now. Skinner has accomplished way more in their respective sports. |

Not sure about most of this - but gotta give you credit where it’s due
We all were talking about Jonas freaking Johansson being better than Ryan Miller.
All of us but you. You nailed that call. I was shocked when he didn’t come out better than one of the all time win leaders in NHL history |
