Skinner - Staal - Reinhart was the best line all camp until they broke it up. - kingcong39
I didn't see it that way. Don't remember them scoring or creating much. I was underwhelmed.
If it was really that good, you do have to ask why they broke it up...
That said, I'd still like to see that line play real games. |

I prefer the steelers
rather have the titans then baltimore, but looking at the big picture, I would rather one of those teams play kc next week and we get the steelers - homiedclown
Yeah.
My reasoning is I want one of them to beat KC and give us the home AFC Championship game if we win |

The titans kicked the poop out of us earlier this year. I want no part of Henry vs this run defense
Lamar you can contain because he’s not going to take a hit |

Opening night is Wednesday, so the season will start on NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Hockey. |

The Titans defence is terrible though.
The Titans would be a better matchup for the Bills than the Ravens would |

My only question about the oddity of the abundance of run calls early is how many were audibles by Josh and how many were calls by Daboll that Josh stuck with.
The Bills players were saying the Colts were the best defense they had played all year, for whatever that is worth.
Is the Colts offensive line the top ranked offensive line in football? - kingcong39
It was mentioned on the broadcast that each of the Colts 3 phases of the game were ranked top 10. I did read the Colts Interior of the O-line is among the best, their weakness was the Tackles. Their D is top 5 DVOA.
The Colts matched up well with the Bill's, it is guided by a wiley vet on the field...many thought it would be tight, and it was. A good test for the boys. |

R2D2 denoted to the 2nd group. I told everyone here he needed time in Rochester. Being good in a finish league is not the same as being good at the nhl level
Cozens and Quinn with group 1 today
Lines haven’t been tweeted out
And homie was right about Quinn. He’s most likely on the team to start year the year |

The titans defense owned Allen and our offense already this year
I get that Allen isn’t the same QB as he was week 4 ish. But still

I don't want either...their running games will be very problematic. |

any of the teams the bills could face have flaws, as do the bills...am of the opinion that you can't worry about them and that the keys to the game are eliminating, or keeping to a minimum, mistakes and penalties while playing to your strengths and covering your weaknesses...that's really anything a team can do |

Because the coach decided to over coach and made a bad decision?
Is that really a surprise? It's an epidemic among coaches.
Every media member that attended the Sabres camp said that line was the best of any line they saw. |

Rasmus Ristolainen, Kyle Okposo and Curtis Lazar aren’t practicing today with the Sabres.

Looking at the roster today with 28 players in group 1 I bet that’s your roster going into Thursday.
23 on the active roster and 5 on the taxi squad.
Group 2 goes to Rochester soon for camp on 1/15.
This is just my hunch fwiw.

jacob bryson is so close to being an nhl player...probably slated for a little more ahl seasoning and if we don't see a little of him this year, he should be a part of the top-six d-corps next year |

In regards to krueger/ skimmer:
Could it be as simple as 2 adults not really "jiving"
A boss and an employee?
Ralph wanted to let the team know he was the new sheriff in charge.
Skimmer wanted coach to know, he's a superstar and signed/ committed too - much longer term and $.
Odd scenario in real life where the employee is making much more than his boss.
A "sitdown" is probably in there best interests.
I'm guessing there is more to krueger liking skimmer on the 3rd or 4rh line because of his career portfolio.
He could also want to have balanced line scoring? - Boss34
Yes, there is a disconnect between the two, Ralph stated as much in an interview...that they had several zoom meetings over the months focused on Skinners play away from the puck. Raph said they had good conversations and believed Skinner had committed to focus on that better.
I'm very shocked, given Ralph's reputation of developing strong relationships with his players, and general positive attitude. Surprised in that apparently he hasn't broken through with Skinner.
Skinner was a "0" in Plus/Minus the year before last season. Eichel and Sam were -10.
He was a 52.4% CF but had 67% Ozone starts....Jack and Sam were slightly less CF and about 62% Ozone starts.
Can/should he focus more...Yes, but to aggressively punish him and lose that many goals on a goal starved team is bordering preposterous, IMO.

Could also be seen as a compliment to Skinner that he believes that he is gifted enough to drive his own line.
Skinner-Lazar-Cozens
Could be an intriguing third line |

The guess is he's on the taxi squad until the AHL is almost ready to go, then he goes down there to get playing time while Borgen stays with the Sabres, starting on the taxi squad. |

Skinner is driving the 4th line today.
Hall-Eichel-Thompson
Olofsson-Staal-Reinhart
Rieder-Eakin-Cozens
Skinner-Asplund-Sheahan
Quinn and Mittelstadt rotate in.
Highest paid 4th liner in NHL history if that sticks?

that's a good approach for me...borgen is right there...huge steps for the organization if those two reach their potential which could be as high as second-pairing |
