Columbus are not trading PLD, especially not to Buffalo.
Buffalo can't afford to trade what it would cost, either. |

Edmonton didn't have a full season with Ralph and a new GM who wanted his own but sure, Carolina had a long look at Skinner and knew him well. If he was so elite why did they toss him away for nothing? - GilPerreault11
Because these so called “strong willed” coaches Ralph and Rob try to square peg round hole players.
Carolina sure has been a model franchise to try to emulate. |

We are comparing Skinner to a 700 grand player Sheahan now. Awesome logic. Maybe why Skinner is placed right on the 4th line then? |

Very true. The big BUT is, if he is not putting in the work like others are to make this team better, and he won’t buy into the culture and system trying to be created, then isn’t he part of the problem? $9mil problem unfortunately but part of the problem still?
One of my biggest criticisms of this team over the past 5 years is the complete lack of effort or consistent effort by almost all players not named Jack or ROR (primary driver to his departure IMo) - lulags
Depends on what you view "the problem" to be.
I'll take the 40G, 0+/-, 52.4% CF player myself.
I'd say wasting $7m and 25 goals is THE Problem. |

the sabres are right
bury a 40 goal scorer after he is locked up to a 9 mil per year contract
it's a very smart move in a cap era where you can't void contracts |

Watching the Titans/Ravens game, I'd rather face a burnt out Henry than a Jackson who can't throw. But both of these teams look gassed. |

Because they drafted McDavid. |

They had a bad GM who thought Adam Larsson was a better D than he was. He was a top 5 draft pick in his draft year.

Oh so THAT situation was poorly evaluated by management and coaches, not the player, got it.
Weird that Hall is on his 4th team already
Think it’s a trend |

Would you trade that for your 22 yo 1C? - IonSabres
If he wants out, he wants out.
If a team can put together a better trade package by all means. |

So if a GM makes a bad trade, he sucks.
Yet, a Coach making a piss poor decision gets a bye.
I see. |

@Sabremetrix
2019/20 Sabres 5v5 Goals per 60:
1.) Skinner 1.06
2.) Eichel 0.92
3.) Reinhart 0.87
In a career worst shooting % season, with bad linemates, he was still our best natural goal scorer

I see a trend of crapping on all Sabres players except Skinner by many posters on here, even ones who haven't had a 14 goal season and earned, let me see 10 million last year.
Now, if we want to talk about people and issues this may take a while.

Ralph is a bad coach
I’d rather have Housley back |

Right and because he’s uselsss defensively and on special teams that nullifies a lot of what he brings to the table. |

59 game season.
Would = 19 goals in 82 games, all of them at 5 on 5, which would be top 25 in the league
He had a bad year with shooting %, and was still a good goal scorer, without PP time and with undisputed bad line mates.
His contract is bad.
There’s absolutely 0 argument for him being some sort of bad player |

As beady-eyed and douchey as GMTM, I applaud him for saying he was going to stick with Bylsma that 3rd season. I think in hockey especially, a coach needs at least 3 years before you can dump him off.
Phillip should have had a 3rd year as well.
But Ralph? I wanted him gone after the first 25 games last year. |
