FYI, you must have stopped reading your history book after the first sentence. While indeed their “names” were flipped back then their ideologies were not. There were multiple political movements with different names and ideals until ultimately, we have what we currently have, left as Democrats and the right as Conservative. Lincoln was not a “conservative” as it stands today. People who say this drive me nuts because they look at what people identified as at the time and thinks it would mean the same today, which it doesn’t.

I disagree. I can finally relax, knowing someone who cares about American lives will be in charge of handling the pandemic here. Way back last January, my wife heard about the virus in China and we started worrying about it all the way back then. We've been worried sick about it since then, due to Trump's absolute mishandling and lack of caring of the situation. I didn't give a crap about politics my entire life - it never effected me and I never understood how so many people could get upset over politicians. That all changed when Trump lied to all of us - saying it would just go away, that it was a hoax, that it would be gone by Easter, admitting later in an interview that he downplayed the severity of it so we wouldn't panic (gimme a break) - and all of that affected me and my family. We are at high risk and were mortified at how he mishandled this thing. We wanted him out of office ASAP for those reasons. All four of us registered and voted for the first time ever to help get him out of office (I would guess that a great deal of new, first time voters were a main reason HE LOST THE ELECTION, by the way).

Tomorrow, we can breathe a little easier knowing someone who cares - a decent, kind man that is actually capable of turning the pandemic around here in America - will be in charge. This is how my life will change - I can finally relax a bit knowing a great plan to help us is on the way.

One thing I learned over my many years, politicians may deserve jail time, they will never get it. He won't do a day behind bars, neither will any of his family.
