$10mil Trent Murphy a healthy scratch most of the season when he could’ve been cut & that $$$ used to upgrade a position

Skipped over Dobbins to draft Epenesa (who barely did anything this year) and then drafted Zack Moss (who was average at best as well)

Great thing we extended Hughes... don’t know what we’d do without his 4.5sacks

What I would be more concerned about is how it appears they dont understand FGs dont beat mahomes. They made their bed on being wildly aggresive on offense this year and then sat back when it mattered the most

U need a good offense AND a good defense to beat the truly elite teams in the league on a regular basis
This mediocre defense cost us badly last night

I think star opting out hurt them more than we think. I don’t have a huge issue with money spent on the line feeling out what some players might do there.

I think bean cleans the d line up this off season. You get star back (and draft a new star?) and it frees up Oliver and the LBs. add to the pass rush and let’s see what we got....

Yes, i am also hopeful they recognize their failure in how they built the Def line & do a better job this offseason

If KC goes and smashes tampa there is only one 'truly elite team' in the league. Its not questionable. Kind of like how it isnt questionable that you need a top QB to really even have a sniff at the big game.

They need to make the defense better but I see no reason to believe they cant. They constructed a top 5 defense just last year

And then disconstructed it for this year
They wasted A LOT of cap $$$ this past year that we don’t have now
And we Milano & Hyde are UFAs
So we have to come up with room to sign them,
AND improve the defense
That’s gonna be tough to accomplish

Led us to only 3 FG drives whil KC was pulling away
He played poorly
Yes, KCs defense played a role in that
But at the end of the day, Allen had a bad game and that hurt us

He had much more than some bad throws to Beasley as well
Threw into double coverage a bit, putting 2 balls right in KC defenders’ hands that we’re lucky weren’t picked off (for specific example), and held on to the ball in the pocket too long (when guys weren’t open) instead of running

Allen didn’t play well
It’s ok to admit that
He’s still a good QB

I'm mad they lost, but it was a hell of a season, lots of good stuff, with the right tweaks they should be able to take that next step.
