Reider - Eakin - Lazar

Maybe Covid will knock some sense into Ralphie-boy.

Gives the top 6 two dominant pairs on each line (Eichel/Reinahrt, Hall/Cozens).

Skinner-Lazar-Sheahan have been very good as a trio and gives a spark to our bottom 6 scoring.

Having Mitts with Eakin and Reider allows them to get back to treading above water and gets Okposo out of the lineup

Well Lazar is well on his way, and to make it a little even if Lazar gets 9 or 10 should be pretty close to Girgs 12 in 69gms cause of the schedule this year.

Track record shows skinner will score more and Girgs will regress. Girgs hits double digit goals twice in 7 years, let’s reward him. Meanwhile Kahun has 2/2 double digit goals in his career, is younger, and prolly costs the same (and scored 2 in 6 games here). Also very real possibility that Rieder scores 10+ this year and Sheahan has done it as many times as Girgs has while costing 1/3 of his salary.

I really can’t believe adams hasn’t made a move trade wise during this covid vacation.

He might be better (will Grant you he prolly is)but hes still a 4th liner. And didn’t we have a bottom 5 PK last year? He plays hard, most 4th liners do. Think he’s overpaid because he’s a good guy who’s been here. It’s not even the salary that bugged me. I don’t like the 3 year term. Take it year by year with those guys imo. 2 if they’ll take a discount.

I never even said anything about skinner either. You brought him up like I’m supposed to defend him. I thought you liked him. He’s clearly better than Girgs and is snake bitten and being jerked around. The talk was always why Girgs and not Kahun. For the same price, give me the new guy who hasn’t been part of the losing culture. Or if you can keep both, cool. Doesn’t matter, I’ll cheer for Girgs, and I do like him as a hard working guy. But he also cashed in on a career year when he actually played his role for the rest of his career (his 15/15 year getting PP time and first/second line minutes isn’t who he is

They are in a world of hurt there in Houston, almost 10mill over the cap, and that's going of a number before the cap is even adjusted, no 1st or 2nd rnd picks this year. Gonna get real interesting.

The coach clearly liked both guys.

With 12 goals last season and a 15 goal season under his belt, girgs could play up and down the line up.

Ufa's are different. Had to anti up , to keep him.

Why constantly bring up the extra 1/2 million per, for a guy that played well last season ( a contact year)

He’s not really better. They’re all mediocre with the exception of Kahun.

Oilers fans already like him a ton, just like Hawk fans did and Penguins fans.

Adams made a mistake. We’d have been better off letting Girgensons walk. He can’t even play this year

Lysowski had a decent article about Ralph and his line Combinations and how it is hard to find players that can mesh with Eichel's speed and skill and needs to put aside the Skinner feelings, cause obviously Skinner was one of those players.

Ralph needs to change or go. That's what good modern coaches do, adapt to the players one has to optimize their team, rather than force square pegs in round holes.

No it's not, still doesn't mean he's optimized his line combinations. He could still put together a decent bottom 6 and still move Skinner up to 1LW.
