My guess is the players are protected by a HIPAA type agreement.

Not happening. Nothing is happening. We will never make another trade, ever again. Forget the rumors. This is our lives as Sabres fans. Deal with it. Enjoy that we just have a team.

Around the time of the trade, both Botts and Agent said publicly they would prefer to wait until after the season was over to negotiate a new deal.
When Skinner was killing it, there was little incentive to negotiate early.
