He's playing fine given hes a replacement player.. wouldn't expect him to come in and shutdown players lol. You guys expect greatness out of everyone when sometimes mediocrity can be enough with SOME players. Jack being mediocre is obviously not enough but a guy like Irwin can be.

Again fully understand. The problem is not enough good players. We'll see usage tonight. But if Irwin plays how he does (he will) and the Joki-Bryson pairing doesn't get more PT, that's an issue. I guess what I'm saying, back to my original point is that it's gross that they are pairing 2 while kids who might make mistakes but are clearly better get held back. Joki might make mistakes. Let him learn from them. Irwin will make mistakes. He's done it his entire career.

Irwin was signed to be a 7th D and PK specialist. Him getting normal top 6 minutes when guys are healthy is a (frank)ing joke. Which he did, prior to McCabe and Risto being out.

I fully understand it. When you sign a depth defenseman for min salary, why is he playing close to 20 min a night, which he's done 4 of the last 5? That's second pairing minutes. My point isn't that he's playing and not doing well (expected) it's that he's being asked and deployed to do just that.

You guys are blaming a defenseman who wouldn't be playing if the D weren't hurt. The only reason he played before they were hurt was because Joker wasn't playing very well, and he still isn't. He's playing at Irwins level. There is literally only one thing wrong with this team and its BEHIND THE BENCH.
