Even under the best of circumstances you won't get a player of his caliber back in a deal. The best case scenario is getting a couple or 3 not-as-good but useful parts. The worst case scenario... well you know. You just don't win the deal. It's impossible. The best you can hope for is to get close to a draw, which I certainly don't trust the Sabres to pull off

Hughes is scoring .235 goals a game vs .29 (Eichel age 19)
Hughes has .47 assists a game vs .39 (Eichel age 19)
Hughes is scoring at .705 points per game vs .691 (Eichel age 19)

This isn't to say that Hughes is better at that age, or that he will continue the pace Eichel took. My point is that he went number one for a reason and looks every part of it. Add another first overall in their newly named captain Hischier, and two firsts, one that will be really high that we know of this year, and again presumably the same next year, it really is prolly too much for Eichel. I would be extremely happy if it happened.
