What doesn't make sense to me is that the incoming cash is probably a drop in the bucket for them. If they didn't trust anyone to run their organization when they were the soul owners why would they want someone to come in as a minority owner and have complete control?

The (buried) optimist in me hopes so. Aren't they selling properties to focus more on the Sabres and Bills? Seems almost contradictory.

Or is it that they'd rather stay with the Bills and give away the Sabres. This would match their recently discovered business model of "building something 'up' and then selling it, like 716". With the Sabres, they ensured they'd be in Buffalo for the future. Of course, it's been very poorly ran and the value has driven down without playoff influx.

There seems to be too much smoke for this not to be partially true. I think the good news is that if it was true to some degree there is no way that Jack would be on the block right now. This would line up with what 89 has been saying (Jack isn't available).

Homie is right! Stuff like this leaks for a reason. They need to try and save face anyway possible because of the dumpster fire they created in the Sabres. Thank goodness they had Beane (and Beane's strong personality of putting Terry in his place during draft/scouting visits) to run the Bills.

Maybe I’m naive, but I think NHL wants to be in Buffalo market. A smaller market routinely pulling down the biggest tv ratings helps the overall value of their national tv deal. Hopefully the league would have their commissioner go to bat to keep nhl hockey in Buffalo. At least as much as they have stood behind “new” market teams struggling for years to grow a fan base due to piss poor ownership/management.

Buffalo is a good market for NHL, and an owner. We fill arena when good and still buy tickets when we suck. I don’t see a need to move the team. I don’t think Terry would sell to someone who moved either. Would hurt his image, and will still be here owning the Bills. Won’t want that publicity blow.
