The quest for vaccine spanned many countries and companies. What benefit is it to wait until after the elections? It isn't like Reagan sitting on the hostages to be freed until after he took office. The quest for a vaccine started long before it - no company is going to risk profit by sitting on a vaccine for a global pandemic. That's just awful reasoning.

Big pharmacy runs the world. If you dont think so look up how Merck was able to seal court documents about the drug finasteride. The FDA allowed them to do so.

So you waded through the thousands of lies that trump told to find an uneducated guess that actually did come true and then say "a-ha!". Seriously?

There was no grand consensus between scientists about the "when". They made their best guesses based on the facts. Yes, here they were making best guesses.
Also, there were different dates for different thresholds. Lots of scientists thought there would be a vaccine before the end of the year. It still had to be tested and then made available for mass production.
