I think that's all scouting really is anyway. A couple of years ago I saw an article contrasting the Edmonton Oiler's draft picks with the players that were still available at the time. If they had simply taken the highest scorer available they would have done worlds better.

He isn’t a retread, but also not proven at the nhl level.
