I don't think anyone disagrees with this.

However, Jack is the one that, at the end of the day, needs to figure out a way to get going.

Everyone talks about how great McDavid, Matthews, Scheiffle, MacKinnon, Marner, etc are, but those players are DRIVEN to be the best.

Jack, seemingly, is not.

Eichel pouts, hangs his head, etc and body language is very telling of a player's inner-drive. Someone said the other day that he's the Jay Cutler of the NHL. I mean, you can't put it any better than that.

They went out and got him a former Hart trophy winner and attempted to upgrade the middle 6 (whether that's succeeding is another story, but management LISTENED to Jack regarding his request to get some veteran hockey players in here), and by all accounts the players like the coach. So, look in the mirror, #9. It's time to take this team on your back like the aforementioned players do for THEIR teams.

We all know they aren't changing GM's and major decisions need to made at the deadline and this summer. It doesn't matter if we're confident or ready, it's going to happen either way.

2 - upgrades for the many UFA's this offseason and guys who don't fit going further on (trade deadline deals)

#2 needs to occur, by definition of UFA status and hopefully they can identify upgrades.
#1 does not need to occur unless Jack gives them the ultimatum...and hopefully in private if he does.

I think your stance is more relevant to #2

those three started a game only three times, with eakin and reider joined by cozens for another game...the team has a 1-1-2 record in those games...

jack's line has started the game nine times, staal, hall, skunk the other one

Simple fact is that UFA's are bad business, and we're dealing with a lot.

I'd add a 3rd, a decision on 2 key guys entering their final year: Sam and Risto.

Overpay to extend this group and you'll never win anything.
