Three more teams and we’ll start calling you Vantel and Lefty - Pacificgem
I was fortunate to grow up during a time in pro hockey when stars played for one team and one team only. Stars were synonymous with a particular crest. So when you loved a player you routed for the team he played on.
Times have definitely changed. |

My folks had seats right at the ice just inside one of the blue lines. The hits would be HUGE!! Went to a lot of games in the early years, the Coliseum was awesome. Great signs hanging everywhere and the chatter was hilarious. - Marwood
I remember the hits It was an amazing experience, I was fortunate.

I think it was Section E seats 1 & 2 right on the aisle. Popcorn, Cracker Jack and soft drinks flying everywhere after a thunderous body check. It was awesome! Real fans not yuppie posers. |

soup thermos or juice thermos?
I remember the days of those thermos’. My mom would give me poop because I always dropped my lunchbox and the inside of my thermos would shatter. Mom would open it and all that came out was silvery mirrored dust. |

Watching Florida and Nashville. Some real straight forward basic hockey.
Florida could use Gaudette |

Boston @ Vancouver Oct 18th, 1970 was my first game. - VanHockeyGuy
Awesome. IMO, the 70’s were the heyday of the NHL. You look back now at those games and say WTF? but at the time it was sooo good. |

The stuff the media can run with 🤔 - manvanfan
I just drove the wife to her friends and had the radio on in the car . SN650 have two of the dumbest A holes I think I have ever heard on there.
They were whining about the current problems with the Canucks and one of the idiots said if another team offer sheets Hughes then Canucks are forced to match. Hughes can not be given OS this year .
Then he proceeds to say Jordie Benn has trade protection. Jordie Benn does not have trade protection.
This was all said and a lot more in a five minute ride.

As free agency has crept lower in age you see stars move in their prime but back in the day they only moved when their careers should have pretty much been over.
Larry Robinson went to LA but I’ll always think of him as a Canadien, Trottier went to the Penguins but he’ll always be an Islander to me, Lafleur went to the Nordiques but he’ll always be a Canadien as well, Bobby Orr went to Chicago but always a Bruin...etc. etc. |

I can't remember who mentioned Van having to retain money to trade players at the deadline. Pretty sure a lot of teams will have to because half the league is tight up against the cap. - manvanfan
Half the league does not have any cap space left and the other half with money are out of the playoffs.

Yup, you said it better than I did.
I didn’t mind when the old timers like Lafleur moved to cash in at the end of their careers because most got paid poop during the 70’s.
Didn’t mind when Ray Bourque left Boston to get a cup. At the time thought it was a unique situation but turns out it started a trend of stars dictating where they went. Hated the Kariya/Selanne maneuvering or when Iggy chased a cup. |

I've had my iMac for about 9 years now. HD crashed last year (thankfully I back it up on an external) – got myself a SSD and it's as good as new again |
