I think he's trying to say 'make a save' but not sure... - LordHumungous
Just like the team is trying to prevent odd man rushes or the D is trying to take the pass away on a 2 on 1? |

Weren't you one of the ones touting gunslinger Rutherford and all the new hirings?
But yes BPA is never the way to go unless you are top 5-10. - LordHumungous
No, I was happy Benning/Green were gone, not so happy about the Boudreau, then Rutherford hiring.
IIRC, Nucker, Booner, Vantel and I all expressed concerns about this group. |

I was a little more optimistic about JR/PA but I said that unless the team had a core change, we'd see the Boudreau effect be what it was, the team playing to what it was (which is a poor to mediocre playoff bubble team that relies too much on Demko and outscoring their defensive lapses to win games (and seeing how Demko is average this year, clearly they're a lottery team, without elite goaltending)) |

I'm not sure we can throw Rutherford under the bus just yet, he's been on the job less than a year. Allvin was hired only nine months ago. Management groups tend to take a year to see where things lie, or is it lay, with a team?
At any rate, there's some concerning signs but I'm not ready to say they've been a terrible hire. If this nonsense continues into the New Year...ok, we can start burning sh it down!

Colors and stripe patterns are great but the logo is hot garbage. Stick n Rink would look exceptional in those jerseys even the Flying skate. |

I'd prefer they just ice a team that's not an embarrassment to Vancouver and the NHL.

From Elliotte;
"Jim Rutherford felt they felt too secure on what was an 0-5-2 team until back-to-back wins over Seattle and Pittsburgh. He made it very clear jobs were on the line, and Vancouver was willing to find ways to change things." |

I feel the same way about players stepping up and making timely plays.
Not enough of them defensively or offensively. |

I think we're going to see changes, just a matter of when.
Horvat, Miller, Boeser, Hughes, Podkolzin, Hoglander, Pearson, Garland and Demko should all be traded. #culturechange |

I think it was Lefty saying the other day that you should build out from the goalie, but I read someone's idea the other day that goalie should come later: the basic reasoning is that goalies can steal you games (ala Demko) and that negatively impacts a draft order/hides warts when you're trying to rebuild. Goalies are fairly easy to trade for or sign in FA compared to number 1 centers or top pairing D. Was an interesting thought. |

So Retinalz and everyone else jumping off a Power Play cliff after the first game.... have you seen they're tied for 4th in the league now? |

Is that the same power play that has given up 3 goals in 10 games? |

Goaltending ensured the Canucks were consistently a couple spots later than they should have been in the draft order every year for the last decade |

Oh ya, definitely... but giving up shorties is on the players 100% |

I think that mostly had to do with saving some cap space…no? - Pacificgem
2.65 at less than 2 years isn’t much cap space when it costs you a 2nd😡 |

I don't think that rolling paper guy on the jersey is helping at all. Team looked baked last night against the Devils. |
